My tacoma has been having this sound since 5k. Windows are tinted. When I presented this to the manager, he speculates that the window tinting maybe a factor.

That is because you are driving with a strong cross wind and it is sucking air out of the truck through the door seal....

The wind in this video was from the LEFT, correct??

That's a poor fitting/sealing door seal. I've had this exact thing happen to mine also.

Impossible for them to replicate it without going out with a very strong cross wind.!!

The window tint causes the noise?! A 1.5-2.0 mil (1 mil = 1/1000 inch) plastic film? Tell him to STFU, and find someone who knows what they're doing.

Yep I just drove to philly and back home to pick up my daughter from the airport and my brand new 2018 tacoma dcsb was whistling quite a bit, only have 300 some miles on it but its super windy and lots of rain today. Was hoping that is what was causing it.

Ya, if you turn around and go the other direction, then It'll do it that way too..!! Dealer will fix...IF you can make them believe you have an issue...

    Good luck..!

I had the same issue with my 2013 TRD and now with my 2016 TRD - dealer has tried everything including plugging holes in the control arms to re sealing the windshield - they just replaced the door seals and that seemed to work so far - been a month now without any sounds

No idea if the seals are the same but on my '14 the seal on the frame is a hollow tube. It might be possible to thread some backer rod into the offending area to inflate the seal more. It's still compressible but might give the seal enough additional resilience to close up the gap.

Ya they wanted to just replace the drivers door but I insisted they do both fronts and I’ve been noise free, and I do a lot of hwy driving.

As much as I sincerely appreciate all the advice and suggestions concerning the "noise" with my '17 Taco, no one really seems to be having the same noise from the same area as me. The cross wind noise I had on my '07 and never did anything with it as it was out of warranty, is not the issue. My "high pitched whistle" is coming from between the driver's side view mirror and the "A" column. I hear it at any speed with the window open partially or all the way. If I put my hand between the mirror and the "A" column, the "whistle" goes away. The mirror and "A" column are prominently shown in my avatar and that is the area that the "high pitched whistle" is coming from. No A arms nor door seals are involved.
I have not been back to the dealer yet, as my 5K service is not yet due. When I do go, I will take the TSB by Jthizz2006
I have looked at other Gen 3's and the design seems to be the same as mine. So is it safe to conclude my truck is an oddball? No other Gen 3 owner has this issue? Really?

Last week, i took my truck to the dealer in regards to this tsb. Honestly thought my truck needed to stay for an inspection but the SA was convinced enough to let me drive the truck back and they'll simply order the parts to replace the stripping and whatever else.

I took my Taco in for a warranty service. I mentioned wind noise. Service manager didn’t question my comment at all and order all to fix.

    What exactly did they fix

I took my truck in for this a year ago, they replaced the seals, and on the way home kazoooooooooooo, it made no difference....I'm wondering if they have come up with a new repair since then that I may be able to go in to get my truck fixed again....or fixed correctly for that matter
