Is there a day to make the wipers faster? I have a relatively clean windshield and even in the highest setting, the wipers just aren’t fast enough to give me adequate visibility during a downpour. Most cars I’ve had seem to run 30-50% faster which would be a very significant improvement. I just had to pull off the road during a downpour because I couldn’t safely keep up with other traffic.

Put the INT all the way up, so it reduces the time between engagement.

I feel your pain, and agree. I've owned a half dozen Toyota trucks (Hilux, Tacoma) since the early 80s, and this has been a common problem. I wouldn't expect a change anytime soon.

Interesting. Never had an issue with mine not going fast enough in heavy rain

    Clean your glass sufficiently...

    1. Degrease it. Use all purpose cleaner to strip anything off of it...simple green, purple power, etc.
    2. Clay bar it. That will remove embedded contaminants.
    3. Degrease it again.
    4. Clean it with window cleaner. Let it dry for an hour or two.

COAT IT with something. Aquapel can be found cheap enough on Amazon, lasts long enough to be worth it. Griot's Garage Glass Sealant is decent too. I'm not a huge fan of Rain X, but some people are. There are better coatings out there as well.

Put on new blades. Bosch Icon's get my vote. Wipe them down with an alcohol pad before using. Everytime you wash your truck you should wipe the wipers down with an alcohol pad. Tons of road grime, oil, various gunk gets stuck in them weekly.

Thank me later, you'll barely have to use your wipers down.

I think we just reached a new low in stupid shit to complain about with these trucks.

BTW, does anyone else think the 3rd Gen carpet is too thin?

    Oh look, another mod....
If it's raining so hard that your wipers can't do their job, then you have other issues that you need to be worried about. Like, driving safely so you make it home alive and without getting your truck dented up.

Yes! I'm so glad someone finally mentioned it. I'm going to start a petition to bring back pile carpeting.

Stupid question, you know you can pull the windshield wiper stalk down to increase the speed right?

I dislike that down makes the wipers go faster. My brain always wants up to be faster. Kinda like the dumbass volume/track controls on the steering wheel.

    Happy Friday :anonymous:

How do you feel about the fact you need to pull the shifter backwards to go forwards? Inquiring minds want to know.;)

    Option A) clean your windshield.

    B) slow down

    C) install marine grade spinning glass

    Why is Friday happy??

“Good Morning!" said Bilbo, and he meant it. The sun was shining, and the grass was very green. But Gandalf looked at him from under long bushy eyebrows that stuck out further than the brim of his shady hat.

"What do you mean?" he said. "Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?"

"All of them at once," said Bilbo. "And a very fine morning for a pipe of tobacco out of doors, into the bargain.

I honestly still don’t understand this complaint. It matches the head unit.
