Also agree. The new V35A-FTS may even bolt right in. 416hp and 442 ft-lb torque is nothing to sneeze at.

Why does the LS get the awesome engine and not the Tacoma?

I’m sure they aren’t easy to find yet anyways. Maybe they were talking about the older LS V8 engine.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
No worries, won't be too much longer and someone will do it. It also won't be too much longer and im sure there will be some kind forced induction kit for these? Then won't have to do swap and all the hassles that go with it...

Bolting in is one thing. Wiring up to run with all the electro wizardry is another.

Old post, I know, but I thought I'd share anyway.

I saw a guy swap a 4 cyl diesel from an older toyota SUV (the details escape me but I'm sure a quick google will help ya) into I believe a 3rd gen.

I've been looking at options too. Seems like 1st and 2nd gen LS swaps are all I can come up with.

The people suggesting superchargers are on a good track too, magnuson just came out with one that fits the 3rd gen. That combined with 4.88 gears should help put some pep in the tacos step

Same for a 66 389 gto that i thought need a bit more. Transplanted an acquired nascar 421 super duty with 500 dual quads in it. Was a lot peppier.
