what size are the 35s? Because I’m looking to mount 35s on my off road stocks too but I heard the 12.5 wide tire can’t fit on the wheel?

even a 285 33" wouldn't fit on that wheel width -although if u ask the dealer or tire shop -they will say they fit ....frankly they seem fine after talking with people who say the tow and offroad fwiw ...

i wouldn't go past that though

there are however pizza cutters -mickey thompsons that run 35" ... looks like the wheel recommendations are the same as 285 -again fwiw

either way you're not going to be able to fit anything in there with the wheel offset you have. a 265/75/16 tire barely fit -u will hit the upper control arms if you dont get different wheels ... after i lifted my truck with the same stock wheels and tires - the control arms were a fingers width from the tire -and after alignment.

    315/75/16 are considered 35s

man I miss and love these wheels on this truck -I wish they would have made some/them with a better offset

spacers though, right? if not, got a pic of the upper control arm rubbing your tire? :p

Great tread thread! Super helpful. I have a ‘21 TRD PRO w/ Fox 2.5’s. I believe it comes from factory w/ 1.5” lift (front) .5” lift (rear). TRD rims. Looking to swap out stock 265/70/R16s for something with a little more Badazz look without having to cut, or do any gearing changes, spacers etc. From what I am reading - I am pretty much locked in to 265/75/R16s - right? I do mostly over road driving with light off road at the moment. I thought I saw 285/70/R16s on a few but they may have had aftermarket lift. Appreciate any thoughts.

To add - I am looking at Falken WPs / Nitto Ridge Grapplers/ BFG KO2s / GY DuraTracs.

height-wise you would be fine with something bigger .... pro wheels have a better offset than the off-road version -its pretty likely you could do 285s .... Im gonna humbly recommend the pizza cutter route -def a safe way to go -and it fits the 7" wheel width . If you were to get 255/85/16 cooper st maxx you will keep your stock tire width but it will be taller much taller ... I went the pizza cutter route -i live in pnw and do off-roading -been happy so far. I have 255/80/17, but i think they look much better on 16s .... and stay away from ATs -you should minimum get a hybrid tire if not MT. Out of the tires you are looking at -I would say duratracs in the 265/75/16. frankly most the tires you're looking at are overhyped. Check out the mickey thompson baja boss AT (hybrid) -that's the best tire .

..and ill add -i think 265s just look too small for the truck -especially in photos... if your lift is under 2" the 265/75s duratracs look alright -the tread is pretty wide

@gattoka Great suggestion on the Pizza Cutters! No cutting needed? No rubbing? 285/80/16s - I Like the idea of higher profile but not wider footprint (in fact slightly narrower) hoping I would not sacrifice too much on MPG. Checking out Cooper ST Maxx

Just realized they do not make 255/80/16s. Would 255/85/16s work without needing to cut, gear up or spacers?

@gatokka - BTW nice truck!! Nice trucks all of us! So another concern 255/85/16s weight about 58# vs 37# for stock. Almost 20# difference. Will that cause issues/ significant wear on brakes / steering components or should I be okay. I am overall pretty gentle when it comes to driving.

No re-gear, rubbing or cutting whatsoever -im even still using rekgen mudflaps...its definitely the big perk of pizza cutter... some mpg will be lost -i went from 20 to 18 at 40psi -u should get slightly better bc ur pro wheels are tucked in .5" more than mine.. u will need an alignment too (caster pushed up) ... if you go past 33" you will def want a rear gear imo .... honestly is makes the truck drive better/normal -less annoying trans shifting all over the place. I have to get E-rated out here -so whatever I get will weigh more.... Additionally, often people dont even have to lift the truck with pizza cutters.... as far as wear -i mean not really -I wouldn't worry about that personally -I imagine brakes might wear a little more -but frankly my mind would be blown if you even notice anything wearing faster than it should -if thats a concern you can always look to see what others say .... this dude (see pictures below) has pizza cutters with ur wheels -for reference ... his tires, and all the other brands in pizza cutter size, are slightly taller but slightly skinnier -which is why I went with the cooper. I didn't want the tread width or section width to be less than stock, and i think it looks better ....i will mention I've seen the geolander tires with 0 offset, or better, wheels and no lift -and it looked super dope .... the overall look will just depend on lift and wheel offset ... and thanks dude -i appreciate it!

.5" more lift in the front is the sweet spot
