Bad part is you just click boxes and hit enter. It's very tempting, you could end up with a TRD off road, instead of a base prerunner like my buddy did last year. He went a little over his wife's imposed truck budget.

Mine is scheduled to be built on 9/21. Dealer says he'll have it a week to ten days later.

I'll be there to pick it up the day it arrives!

Oh crap! I know one guy who ordered the light blue for his IS350 instead of the Ultrasonic blue. He went through 4 ISs and all of them were ultrasonic blue except the one he fat fingered.

Anything? Like you can build a limited with a hood scoop or put limited interior in a OR? Do you have to work for toyota to get this or can suppliers get a similar deal?

Just curious about all you guys ordering a truck without a quoted price? Are you just going to pay MSRP and be happy with that?

Right now, yes, I'm expecting to be paying near MSRP on my order. Hopefully they can make up for it by giving me a bit more on my trade-in, but I'm not counting on it.

You guys all paying Full MSRP?

I am going through the sane thing with my 12 Miata SE. New redesigned 16. No discounts yet.

One of the reasons I bought the 15 earlier this year was to get the exact truck I wanted in the event I don't want to buy a 16 "off the truck".

That tends to be how it works when buying the first year of an extremely highly anticipated new generation of a vehicle.

I am in the same boat with the 16 Miata. However the anticipation is MUCH MUCH higher there.

1000 Pre orders in MAY for August delivery. I don't see any where near the excitement in this forum for the 16 Tacoma as one reads in the Miata Forums re the 16 redesign of the MX5 . Well over 100 forum members pre ordered back in May. But that redesign was more extreme that the Tacoma. Pus no first year issues because the SkyActive engine is the exact same engine in their other modals as well as the tech and the transmission. No firs t year jitters there.

I think there will be discounts sooner rather than later on the Tacoma.

How many Miatas are sold a year compared to the Tacoma? I can't imagine it's even in the same stratosphere. I can't even remember the last time I saw one.

That is what makes 1000 pre orders months before any reviews and any delivery that much more of an anticipated vehicle. I don't see that kind of excitement here for the new Tacoma and this is a Tacoma Forum

Guys on that forum were tracking the cargo ships from Japan to the ports and taking pictures of them being driven off the ships......Crazy anticipation for a car that doesn't sell all that many..

I am a Miata guy and have a Special Edition NC and I anticipated buying the Miata before the 16 Tacoma.

Maybe it's because the Miata is really an enthusiast car. It's like a Corvette in that they don't sell many but anticipation is high on the new ones. Bottom line, though, is the new Tacoma is an infinitely bigger deal in the auto industry than the Miata is. Nothing against the Miata but they are in different universes in terms of sales.

I agree. but the Forum excitement over the new model Tacoma is nowhere near the anticipation of the ND Miata or even the C7 Vette when it came out. I think Tacoma owners are every bit as overly enthusiastic about the Tacoma as Miata and Vette owners I know I am a Tacoma guy. Had four of them. But also had a sports car as a runabout.

I still feel and see a"lukewarm" reception to the 2016 Tacoma here. A handful of pre orders vs over 100 forum members listing their build and delivery dates six months before even a press release of specs and prices. 1000 Mazda $500 deposit pre orders before pricing and any reviews were out

Having had a Vette when the C7 came out and now a Miata when the ND comes out the forums were ablaze in anticipation. I see "interest" here but I don't see the numbers of guys who definitely want the new Tacoma. Many more than not forum members taking a wait and see position.

My 2010 Tacoma was totaled when I was rear-ended at 60mph by a young man on his phone. The insurance gave me a very generous settlement on my truck.
I will have some $$$ out of pocket, but I get a brand new truck in the color of my choice, equipped just the way I want it.

    No brainer for me.

I guess it just depends on what your definition of anticipation is. If the Tacoma continues to sell around 10k+ per month, and the average month of Miata continues to be around 350-500, which is more anticipated? Maybe the roadster audience is more apt to posting on forums.

If the Tacoma came in a convertible there would be a lot more enthusiasm and owners who are women. As it is I may buy a Miata so I can park my new Tacoma off road on top of it.
