I got the Factory hood, fenders, and mirror package. for 350 or 400$ I don't remember. Due to me driving from Miami to Alaska, I had a company do the grill and whole front bumper. Was well worth it imo. I had like two rock chips before I got it installed. The chips drove me nuts cause they are black and shows on the light quicksand.. Anyhow yeah its a truck but I like to keep things looking nice for as long as possible.

I got a rock chip about 3" from the top of the windshield. I knew it was a risky fix, but Safelight tried. Of course, it cracked to the edge during the repair, and now I have a Fuyao windshield that I got retinted to 50%. Yes it comes with the GoPro mount, so now I have 2. I didn't file it on insurance, just paid $300. I don't think the paint is shit anymore than any other OEM paint - rock chips happen (I still have none). However, I believe the OEM glass is Pilkington (could be wrong) and if so, I have almost 6 years experience with high tech and specialty glass suppliers - Pilkington is a turd.

Customer service by him and his co-pilot was among the best I've ever had, in any industry. First experience with SafeLite - definitely a good one considering the circumstances.

down here in SC, insurance covers all chips/windshields with no deductible cause they have some of the worst roads in the country and had safe-lite fix a chip in my wife's car and they did a great job..

maaco is pretty bad but better than earl schieb...lol, I have a lot of experience shooting base coat/clear paints and if it is done right, should last a longtime and is very durable..

Maaco and E.S. can both be pretty good if you do your own prep work, and even better if you entice the painter with some cash. There is no way to blanket generalize an entire company when so much depends on the guy (or girl) with the paint gun at each location. I've had about $500 total cost ($299 + $200 cash to Jose the painter) look like a $2500 paint job. It wasn't candy paint or anything, just a single stage white - but it definitely was worth some elbow grease and $500.

Agree, I didn't mean to make it sound like a blanket statement but I take pride in all my work and I made sure things were done the right way whether I was painting for someone who didn't have a lot of money or the other way around.. always treat others the way you want to be treated...not sure why you would have to entice the painter? If he is getting paid to do his job anyhow, right?

Nah not saying you specifically generalizing thing, but Maaco and ES get generalized a lot no matter who you talk to. As far as enticing the painter, sure you don't have to, but speaking for myself - when someone hands me extra, I tend to step it up. And if you're like "hey man can you get those door and trunk jambs and the detail in the grille" how willing to do that would he/she be? The "Ambassador" paint job covers specific work - and while you can pay for the "extras" through the front desk, your money goes much further directly to the guy doing the work. The "extra" is simply paying for his skill and more of his time. They work on pretty standardized time estimates, Maaco knows how fast they can paint a car and deviations will not go unnoticed. The one I used I guess the location manager would let him "do a little extra" and he would just run my job at the end of the day, so he could take a little extra time without affecting normal work flow.

Again, everything can vary greatly from 1 location to another, person to person.
