Try bleeding an 80 series land cruiser after air gets in the system. With those you need a special tool which is now extinct to run the abs pump. A tactrix cable (not bootleg) and a copy of techstream are indispensable to have with these tacos. That is probabaly what the dealer will use to actuate the abs.

Having a pressure pot such as a motive brake bleeder supplying brake fluid under pressure to the master also helps. I had to buy one. It is the poor mans version of the BG machine mentioned. If you pair it with the mityvac vacuum bleeder, it can get you out of some binds lol.

They said they hooked mine up to a machine, I don't think they manually bleed them at the dealer.

My pedal is pretty damn firm.

I've got a pressure and vacuum bleeder. Didn't think to try them both at the same time.

whats your opinion on using Speed bleeders on the brake cylinders, I was thinking of trying to use them cause they don't allow any air to get sucked back into the system, really don't want to invest in a MOTIV and I have tried the MITYVAC suction gun didn't help my soft pedal

They are handy and make conventional bleeding a 1 man job, but they dont really help with the quality of the bleed. If you cant bleed it with the normal bleeder, the speed bleeder wont really help much.

When you bleed brakes the conventional way you kind of need a disciplined helper that wont let go of the pedal till you have close the bleeder. Also its good practice not to let the pedal go to the floor when opening the bleeder, so as long as the helper doesnt let go of the pedal before you have closed the bleeder, no air should get in.

Also bleed with engine on so the booster helps you with the pedal.

good point my helper sucked, thus my idea of using the speed bleeders. my idea is use speed bleeders let my dumb helper(wife) just pump the pedal and me under the truck observing whats coming out and opening/closing the bleeders. I don't trust my helper:D

I ordered speed bleeders the other week. They show up, and they were sold individually, not a pair. So I have one bleeder for the front, one for the rear and the bag to catch the fluid. I paid $41 shipped but would sell it to you for $30 shipped if you're planning on getting them anyways. All in unopened packaging. I don't feel like forking out another $30+shipping for the other 2 bleeders.

Seriously consider a motive bleeder. They're great if you don't have an air compressor. If you do decide to take the plunge get the one with the quick release chuck on the end. Then just get adapters as needed.

Sorry if I overlooked this but I am curious as to why you bled your brakes to begin with? Was it time for a flush or did you have a component failure?

Well. First it was braided lines. Then I did a rear disc conversion. And this time around it was for extended rear lines for the lift I said I wasn't going to do.

I think with the MOTIV is that it doesn't come with a specific cap/cover that fits Toyotas master cylinder, its a Universal cover that from what I read doesn't work as good. I would research that a little before dropping the money.

That's why you get the one with the quick release. You can order the specific Toyota adapter in aluminum.
