Well I saw mine at 145k miles too. I do a visual inspection on the whole truck every 5k. It formed about a 1" diameter pink crust on it. Very little signs that it had sprayed very much. Coolant reservoir was maybe about half way. I topped it off and no further leakage at 171k now.

Add me to the list. Decided to do it myself and upgrade to a Centerforce II dual friction clutch while I was down there. Got it torn apart now, new valve gets here tomorrow.

Classic case. Wonder if adding a small amount of RTV sealant would be advisable? The only seal is a O ring.
Other than that it is just plastic against the metal.

Not a mechanical seal issue, it's a material issue.

The bypass manifold(don't know what it's called a hose) cracks. It's made of injection molded hard plastic.

I did a dye penetrant test on mine, the picture is in one of the threads.

haven't kept up with this but going to start keeping an eye on mine now that I'm at 120K miles.... is there still no metal part? Best case is just replace with OEM plastic?

I just assumed it leaked where the two joined.

Nope, and every single one of them I saw reported is leaking from the passenger side.

My bad. It's technically a joint not a valve.

This post had me panicking as my stock radiator just popped a leak on my 2017 Pro with only 45k miles on it. This bypass leak is actually pretty easy to spot with a flashlight and getting under the truck. Look right above the cat on the passenger side and right above the bell housing. Stole a pic from this thread and matched it with mine. Fingers crossed mine stays leak-free. This should help folks spot if you have the leak or not without a scope or twisting your neck too much. Here are the good and bad pics taken from underneath the truck.

    Good (no leak):

    Bad (you have a leak):

Sorry to hear that, my stock radiator on my 17' blew at 72k miles as well. I swapped in a mishimoto one with all the stock hoses and I've been super happy with it. Much heavier duty than the stock one and full aluminum. Bolts right in but I had to zip-tie the top plastic protector on in favor of using the plastic clips since it's much thicker than the stock. one.

Like minds! Swapped mine out with an all aluminum CSF and Mishi tubes for the bling factor. I stretched the top plastic piece on mine a bit and was able to re-use the stock pins. The CSF is quite a bit thicker than stock as well. 2-row.
