Sit in stop and go traffic for 2 or 3 hours, milking a clutch, is not my idea of fun.

I think you'd love it though. It makes the auto feel like complete shit. And you can't stall first, so as long as traffic is moving faster than 2 mph you can just let the clutch out and manipulate first gear throttle the whole time.

Yeah, I dont care what kind of traffic I live in. I will always opt for M/T if I can get it.

Your front fell off. You should get that looked at.

(They might tell you its a characteristic of the vehicle.)

Exactly Smitty plus when your as old as dirt like me have L4-5 issues with sciatica, MT's are no fun. They were when I was young.

BTW, my 2017 will outlive me. Still love my 2002 w/239,000 miles on her but felt this was my last Rodeo buying a new rig.

I work with an electrician who has a Jetta TDI with 700k km. He drives an hour each way to and from work. He has 7 years till retirement and he plans on picking up his next vehicle the day after he retires. He's going for 1 million Km.

I don't know how long mine will last, she's 9 years old now only 130k km, I run Mobile1 oil, the frame and body oiled yearly. I have only to replace the front pads so far. I figured 25 years, but now I'm thinking 20. Hope I don't get t boned.

How long will your 3rd gen last, 4X's as long as a Ford EcoBoost, 3X's as long as a Dodge, and at least 2X's as long as a Ford or Chev V8 or the same as a F250 Powerstroke.

Yes I agree although Ive never owned one my brother has gotten 270k out of three cherokees and he doesnt do shit to them. Those straight 6 engines are practically bullet proof. I expect to get a good 300k out of this 16. I already have 15k in 6 months. It gets driven a lot and many off road trips but taken care of with maintenance.

Pretty sure my 2.7 will outlive me.

Vehicles, unlike people and animals, don't die. If you are willing to spend money on them you can keep them forever. I am a hoarder/have separation anxiety so I just keep fixing my vehicles. I am also super obsessive about maintaining them. My suburban has 319k (father bought it new and I told him he had to sell it to me when he was ready to get rid of it). I have a 59 Land Rover I have had for almost 20 years, I restored it with a new frame when I was in college. I never drive it, but I still have it. My ex made me sell my defender 90. After we split up I bought it back. :) I still can't bear the thought I have to part ways with my VW TDI even though it was the first vehicle I bought thinking I would not keep it forever. I will probably keep it and not take the buyout. I don't know. It's upsetting. It is a great car and I am attached to it.

Ehhh I'm not sure about that one of the older retired guys I hunt with has a 2003 Silverado 1500 with 350K+ miles on it. He drives all over the country going to NSTRA dog trials. He's replaced water pump, radiator and some common wear & tear components but the engine still runs strong.

I think we're reading from a lot of loyal customers. I too have owned a number of very good Toyotas. This is my 1st Tacoma. I also maintain my vehicles meticulously getting over 200k. Like financial investment claims though, "Past performance does not guarantee future expectations".

I lost my 2010 150 from a T-bone. After escaping a bad used truck deal, I decided to put out a lot more cash a for a 17 purely on faith. I did that knowing relatives and friends that had owned at least a dozen Tacomas and Tundras.

It's a very nice truck. But; I'm pretty much shocked of the lack of testing & quality control on this drive train. Unfortunately I have one with most of the transmission issues. I've had the Rev1 TSB done. Minor issues and the shift pattern was significantly improved. Several issues still exist. I've worked on many engines and transmissions. I don't feel software will fix these issues. I do not have confidence this trans will make 100k.

Got the gas mileage down to 13mpg! Modification complete
You will get as many miles as you put on it....it's the high school or college kid that will put the real miles on it.

How many miles do you have on the inferno off road shown in your picture? Have you had any problems with it?
