3rd Gens - Removed B-Pillar Vinyl? Post Here!!

I do not mind the vinyl's but look how uneven yours look. My 2016 and 2020 were also like this and the main reason I wanted to remove them to begin with.

I hate mine! Was going to remove it, but wanted to see how they looked first. Now I'm DEFINITELY going to remove it. Do you just hit it with a heat gun and peel them off?

 

I did mine on a hot day in August and the truck was only a couple weeks old. But the short answer is yes. A little heat, doesnt take much, and it peels right off. I then used adhesive remover to get the tack off and then washed it and used some spray wax. It is a pretty easy job.

 

It’s funny because black 3rd gens do not have those stickers.

 

Agreed. my BBPearl with all black accents, i dig the look. adding the black RSI shell and it'll be black on blue on black on blue...

 

Pulled them to look like my old 2nd Gen..

 

Any vehicle I have owned where they use this cheap vinyl method to gain that effect, I have removed it. I have owned vehicles where they use high gloss piano black inserts or black matte inserts on the B-Pillar and that looks good, but vinyl.... nope.

I am okay with the blacked out B-Pillars to create a visual effect of continuous windows, it's the cheap vinyl method that I find unappealing.

+ debadged like some other examples on the thread. My advice to any considering this is to do it earlier in the truck's life vs. later, otherwise you may have a "shadow" where the old vinyl or badges were.

I'm 100% pleased with the effect and would never go back!

 

My truck came without those stickers, so all good here.

 

I thought about adding the vinyl to my 2nd gen regular cab. Not just on the B pillar of the door, but also on the cab. All the way around to the back window. Giving the truck a floating roof wrap around rear window look.

When I read this I thought, surely you must be joking. Then I went and looked at the 2022 Tundra photos and, holy crap, they did black out the A-Pillars and it does look like cheesy vinyl.
