3rd Gens - Removed B-Pillar Vinyl? Post Here!!

Any paint color issues waiting so long to do it?

I’ve had my truck for 2 years.

 

I removed my decals in the first week so no problems for me. Color issues is why I'm too nervous to remove this vinyl at this point

 

yeah agreed... mine are already looking horrible. I haven't found any installation vids which id be curious as to just replacing but not sure how to get it wrapped under the window weather striping without removing that too.

 

Wonder how this would look on an access cab.

 

Maybe wrong place to ask haha, but has anyone found/done the pillar trim in gloss black? Kind of like the GM’s have? My factory pillar trim has faded and either will have it rewrapped factory black or try a gloss trim if it exists.

I've noticed on mine and every other Tacoma I go by that the vinyl on the front and rear door are not exactly lined up. Front is almost an eighth of an inch higher on both sides. Since I see other trucks that are the same is it by design?

 

Hated the black vinyl, especially when it didn't even line up between the doors!

 

Seeing this, I wish I would have done it earlier

 

2018 OR complete sticker and badge delete. No paint issues on the white after 6 years.

 

i removed the vinyl during my last deep clean detail session about 2 months ago.

looks good dented as well

 

My v6 4x4 SR didn’t come with one…

 

Mine are all faded I’m curious if anyone has ever seen a replacement with a topographic map design? I thought it would be cool to replace them with that if it was an option. I would remove mine but I’m sure after 6 years of being in weather and sun that it would look weird against the paint that hasn’t been in the sun.

2019 ORLB. Vinyl was faded and blotchy. We’ll see if it stays this way.

 

I didn’t like the vinyl either. Went another direction.

 

I have an almost identical setup. I think you convinced me remove mine today.

 

Looks good! Prefer to keep mine on for protection and greasy fingers lol

 

The Sun warmed it up.
