High tides shut down Beach Access 5 & 6 on South Padre Island

High tides and dangerous driving conditions have prompted authorities to shut down Beach Access 5 and 6 on South Padre Island.
Cameron County Judge Carlos Cascos issued the closure on Thursday morning.
Cascos reported that tides are so high that they are making it dangerous to be on and drive on the beach.
Authorities will issue another message once the tide goes down and the beach has been reopened.

 

I hope that doesn't happen. It would literally ruin the best part of the day (drive down the beach). but if worse comes to worse, we can always cruise down the "strip" and hit up a place to chill/eat/have a few.

Just count on it NOT happening.

We'll be good!

 

Hopefully I can make it, sounds like alot of fun. It would be nice to see what other tacoma enthusiasts have done to their trucks.

 

I heard OP will be having a wet T-shirt contest from his truck bed.

 

As long as it's not TW members, but pretty girls on vacation in South Padre

 

Me and a buddy are Leaving Friday During the day so we can get some afternoon fishing done

 

I should make a magnet for my tailgate that reads "All hot chicks with big boobs follow me for wet t-shirt contest! 1st place gets $300.00!!!"

Then when it's time to pay, we'll act like someone stole the money and took off.

 

Are you guys taking "sand" to the beach? Or you guys rolling solo? Is this a family thing? Whats the agenda? We camping out...or do we get a room?

I wouldn't want to make any promises about me camping out, I'm still undecided.

I'll probably be riding with a buddy of mine. Bring anybody you want to man!

The more people that attend, the better it will be!!!

 

If anybody is interested in a snug top tonneau cover for a first gen xtra cab let me know I can find a way to take it with me. It is white in color pics are on my profile I believe

 

Count me in ink junky! Sounds like a good time. I can bring a small grill and some beverages. I also have a nice Yamaha generator (very quiet) if we need it for anything. I will bring it just in case.

Just added y'alls names.

I'm still unsure if it's Friday or Saturday for me.

As the summer semester comes closer and closer to an end, well the pressure of normally 16 week courses packed into 10 week summer courses can get a little hectic.

I thought summer school was gonna be a breeze.

How many of you SA (and anybody close to SA) would be willing to drive out together Saturday morning?

I know some of you guys are planning on driving down on Friday. I would just like to see how many want to drive down together.

 

LESS THAN A MONTH AWAY GUYS!!!!!!!!!

 

I'm off that whole week and don't mind being on the beach at all so I can go whenever

 

I will probably head down Friday evening and bring the travel trailer, might as well make a weekend of it. Just need to find a good camping spot there.

 

Going to the island this weekend!!!

 

Been here since Friday leaving tomorrow. I've seen a ton of sweet Tacomas! Can't wait for the meet!
