Hello I have a Toyota Hilux it's an Australian 3rz Fe and should be the same as your Tacomas. I don't have any spark from the second coil the first coil is fine and the engines running on 2 cylinders. I have replaced the cam crank and air flow sensors also the coils the leads and spark plugs. I have tested the wiring and it looks to be fine. The computer will only give me code 15 which seems to mean nothing. All of the codes gone away since I replaced certain sensors. The only thing that confuses me is that when I disconnect the connected to the coils and put my multimeter on them the first line gets 12 volts on both. The third line diagnostic line gets 6 volt on both. Both the negative seem fine. On the firing Coil from the computer I get 0 volts yet the non firing coil I get 1.5 volts when the ignition is on but the its not started obviously. This has realy got me stuffed. Any ideas guys and gals? Thankyou.

Issue fixed. A resister had failed in the ECU. I replaced it and away she went.

Wow, nice troubleshooting OP. The ECM definitely doesn't fail often, so it's failure can be tough to diagnose. Nice work and thanks for posting up what fixed your problem. This will surely be beneficial for someone in the future.

Hey, well mine was more the fact that i had eliminated everything else. Even when i would disconnect a sensor that had nothing to do with the issue it would then send up the corresponding error code.
I was talking to a auto-eleci that told me that Code 15 in the Cam-dig system (3rd party dig system) 15 is a communications error. Since there is only the ECU how could there be one.
Taking it to the last resort i pulled the ECU opened it up finding that these ones here are not sealed. 4 screws and shes open.
I cleaned the dust and anything else out of there and started running around with my multimeter and found that one side of the board wasn't talking to the other due to the resistor failure.
So yeah i guess in my case it did have a communications error, an internal one like vehicular Tourette syndrome i guess would be the closest description.
    Been working perfect since.
And to be honest i think i've got better fuel economy on petrol now as well.
I hope this helps you guys out as it really had me stuffed for a bit.
