I have a 1996 Tacoma with a 2.7. The original engine had a lot of miles so I picked up a newish 3rz from foreign engines in Tacoma Washington. After dropping the new engine in I was having trouble firing it up. Eventually I got it running it was miss firing extremely bad and would not idle on its own. After unplugging the MAF sensor it ran “smoother” but idled at about 2300 rpm. Could this be a bad MAF or something to do with ignition timing?
