I have a 97 Toyota Tacoma with 2.7 L , 4X4 When you push on the gas lightly it is fine, but if you push a little harder even about 1/2 throttle or a little less is will bog down and sputter and act like it is going to die. If you floor it, she'll take off. I had a tps code and replaced it. Whooho! It fixed it for a day... The tps code went away but still the same problem. It has codes p0125 and p0135 but both of those its had since I got it 5 months ago. Changed filter, cleaned throttle body, cleaned MAF, checked egr opens and closes just fine. Its driving me up a wall. It will pass and it runs great whith great acceleration but it will leark back and f**k me. Its somewhat predictable, it seems like its just before it gets completely warmed up but Its also come while im driving around so inconclusive there. Any help its GREATLY appreciated. Im getting ready to burn the damn thing. It's the most obnoxious issue.

Have you looked at any parts of the ignition system yet? I'm torn between something fuel related and something ignition related.

Tbh, I haven't. Most I did was wiggle the coil pack and plug wires. One thing though, i opened the hood and held the the throttle at half and the usual weeeooo weeooo weeo surging and then it backfired and ran fine again. Interesting. What about the crank position sensor? I don't know a whole lot about it but it could throw off the timing correct?

The CPS could, but I would expect that to occur at all parts of the throttle range.

The backfire is interesting though. Hm.

I was just going to add about the throttle range, yes. I should say more like a knock. Though I think that it is also just me trying to draw any conclusions I can. I remember it knocking when it happened driving around, and wouldn't fix itself after a cough or two.
