so I decided to rebuild my 3rz and maybe turbo it all at once while the motors out. What parts do you recommend for a rebuild that will most likely not exceed 250whp I don’t want big power just a rebuild and add a little power with a turbo kit I’ve looked around at rebuild kits and other internals turbo kits etc.. but I want a second opinion thanks

I dont know 3rz's well enough to be certain...BUT my thought would be that stock OEM Toyota components should be able to handle 250whp without any issues. I dont know what these bottom ends can hold up to but I would assume they should be able to take 300-350 ok. I have heard you can get 300 hp out of a stock 2/3rz without having to crack open the engine, so I would think 250 would be fine. Its only 100 hp over stock. Just my 0.02....

Ok yeah that’s what I heard too but just wanted to be safe so a normal rebuild would take that power ok? and it would be more than 100 I’m talking 250 at the wheels not crank so it would go from 150 crank hp to around 300 hp crank that’s almost double that’s why I’m asking better safe than sorry

Go browse through LCE performance's website. Most guys on here who mod their 3rz run a supercharger though. Ive never heard of anyone turboing that motor.

I would think a normal rebuild would take that power ok. If you use OEM Toyota stuff....aftermarket I dont know. But I think Toyota parts would handle it ok. You could see about upgrading the rods if you were concerned but I have heard the stock rods are really strong in the 2/3rz.

Right, yeah even 300 hp crank I would think you would be fine. 300 whp may be pushing it but 250 whp shouldnt be an issue (I dont think it would at least)

For sure. Better to ask and maybe overbuild the engine than not and risk failure.

I was planning on getting my rebuild kit from Lce might upgrade rods a bit I’ll have to do more research on That I’ve been looking at it for a few months even before my motor went out.

I want to do turbo because it’s different I always favored turbos I know in a truck it’s not as common but why not?
