I'm wanting to buy a travel trailer, I'm looking at an R-Pod 179 HRE. The dry weight is 2649lbs with 35 gallons of fresh water 292lbs. So 2941lbs without gear. I know I'm rated at 3500, but I'm not stock. I have a high output alt. Dakar leafs, Tundra disk brakes, 4.88 gears with a 5sp transmission and bilstein shocks. Not so helpful are plate bumpers front and rear and a winch 3" lift.

I've never had a trailer before and don't want another truck, just wondering what yall think.

I think your transmission is gonna hate you if you tow that much.

The 4.88s will help, but I really don't think the w59 is stout enough to tow that heavy a load very often.

If you're only doing shorter trips every once in a while, it might be ok.
