First time poster, don’t roast me if I post in the wrong area. Just really losing my mind on this one. Need some more suggestions. So I got a dizzy 3rz that I’ve had a turbo on for a couple months and I started having some idling problems after multiple successful months of driving with the turbo. It has a 70% load value at idle speed with foot on the gas, won’t idle, and is reading 20:1 on my wideband. So here are the things I’ve checked or replaced:
    New oem maf
    New oem o2 sensor
    Ecu with matching part number
    Spark plugs
    Fuel filter
    Cleaned and inspected fuel injectors
Checked for vacuum leaks and boost leaks
    Checked iat sensor
Pulled entire engine harness to check for wires touching or shorts
Pulled the charge pipe loose to see if it would run without boost pressure and it wouldn’t.
Maybe a couple more things I’m forgetting but this is the most of it. Still have load reading of 70%-80%. The iac is on my list to check but was something I never had hooked up before turbo and it idled fine. I do have a urd maf and fuel timing calibrator but it is currently set at neutral values due to it not wanting to idle. If you guys can come up with an ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. I’m about to my wits end on this pickup and it really sucks to get that way. Thanks

    Any cel?
Is your maf before or after the turbo?
    Fuel trims within 10%?
    Runs fine everywhere but idle?

Stock injectors, no check engine light, maf is post turbo between my bov and throttle body, it’s in open loop so no trims. It won’t idle so tough to get trims unless I hold throttle. Pretty much un driveable.

What's your fuel pressure? Maybe your pump or pressure regulator are on the way out. I'd also be worth checking the coolant temp sensor. Other vehicles I've had would go nuts when it went out.

@Cam_85yota , how old is your fuel pump? Is it upgraded?

    What is your fuel pressure?

Sounds like your engine isn't getting enough fuel.

*copied from the B.S. thread. You guys beat me to it. *

How do the contacts in your distributor look, by the way?

Buyobuyo: Pressure was the next thing I was curious about. Could be that it’s not producing enough pressure. It’s a 96 4runner fuel pump that I swapped into my tank. I’ll check pressure and check back here. Coolant temp sensor reads normal on my scan tool so I was confident it is reading accurate.

Torspd: Stock fuel pump. Yea the wideband being 20:1 is just crazy. I always think air when it’s 20:1 but it can always be gas. Buyobuyo said pressure as well so we’ll see what I can find today. Contacts in the distributor I have not checked but it has a new cap and rotor with maybe 1,500 miles on it. I might as well check this too. I’m running out of ideas but i’m gonna get it narrowed down.

I've got my money on the old fuel pump. Swap in a Deutsche Werks or walbro 255 fuel pump. Being that you are boosted, density of a higher flow fuel pump is Paramount. As well, your truck oh, it is an easy drop in replacement.

Might be worth just tossing a new pump in that produces more. But would that play into the high load at idle? That is throwing me for a loop.

Check fuel pressure, then go from there. With the age of and lph of yours, swapping a new larger one is just good sense.

Being that the load is at 70% at idle I put my money on somthing is wrong with the MAF sensor. Might want to give it a cleaning to start with.

I’ll see if I can rent a pressure tester and see what kind of results I get.

Arcenik: That’s exactly what I had thought was the maf so I swapped a oem one in. Still the same. Usually the load is based off air input into the maf and then basin it off the load table for fuel and air.

Is your temp sensor in the maf? Load is a calculation based on air flow and temperature.

Fuel pressure was reading a steady 45 psi. Didn’t sound as high pitched of a whine as it has in the past. Temp sensor is external and ran right next to my charge piping and it reading normal.

What are you seeing on your scantool for the maf sensor reading at idle? Maybe you've got a short or open from some old, rotted wiring.

I pulled the harness out the other night and checked for issues within the harness and found a scraped wire on the tps. Fixed that and still have the same problem. Maf wires looked fine as far as I could tell. Ill see if I can get some scan tool readings. One thing I found odd was if I unplugged the front vacuum line to the power steering, it would idle on its own. Once plugged back in, won’t idle. I’ll do some resistance checks on the maf harness for giggles and see what I come up with. Appreciate the help guys!

Could you take a picture of your engine bay? Multiple if necessary, so we can see all of your vacuum hoses.
