Noticed this when chasing down a small chirping coming from the drive belt area.

Anyone encountered this before? Hoping I just need a new harmonic balancer. Never had it off before, so not sure what to expect.
    Hopefully not a damaged crankshaft...

Mine was doing the same thing. I don't remember if it was quite as bad as yours but replaced the HB and no more wobble. As far as I could tell, there was no damage to the crank.

To get that crank bolt off, I used the starter bump method and it worked beautifully.

That's pretty rough I'd address it sooner than later.

Like the other post mentioned... starter bump method is super easy. The HB is just popping off the belts and fan honestly nothing too horrible. Here was mine:

Thats damaging the HB seal where it goes in timecover...

Its on the verge of shearing the crankshaft key.......then it gets alot more expense/time/parts

Same kinda thing on my 5vz, from the video it appears to be just the pulley separating from the inside/outside as it is rubber bonded.

LCEngineering sells awesome billet aluminum replacements. Highly recommend, and make sure to get a new crank bolt and replace the front oil pump seal while your in there.

Mine wobbled and the bold broke off in the crank nose. The LC pully is underdrive, BTW. Might not be your jam. I ended up buying an LC Stage 1 long block. Sweet motor!

Fix ASAP before it bounces around and damages the crank or timing cover. Essentially the rubber that dampens the vibrations is worn out causing it to bounce around. The belt squeal is actually the outer part of the pulley slipping on the rubber part of the dampener. Replace the balancer, bolt and belts. I got mine off Amazon. The OEM ones are like $700.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I ordered a replacement OE HB, oil pump housing seal, oil seal, and seal saver from LCE.

Hopefully it just needs that. I'll know more when I pull it off....
