I debadged it, had to work a whole bunch and put on a K&N in time to deploy. Now my wife controls the money and hopefully I have enough when I get back to get her washed. Soooo... mods are in progress?
That raptor will eat a tuner for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I don't know the definition of fast... but a simple google search with that against a "sports" car will prove otherwise.

The Lightening was the fastest production vehicle ford had for almost three years.

The SRT was running in the 10's and 11's when motortrend tested it years ago

    The chevy was a joke

Not arguing, just saying... no wait, I was arguing. All in love and fun though

ha-ha. I get what your saying.

I've ridden in several drag cars that were fast so my idea of fast is probably different than others. One point about motortrend is I never trust what those magazines say because real life streets, normal drivers won't be able to pull what magazine drivers can. However; I've always wanted a Lightening and still do. Love those trucks.

My last-last-last car was an 04 terminator with an F3 procharger, all the required top end build ups, a fuel pump the size of a honda's gas tank, tubbed out with an aluminum roll cage. Never juiced it, but I was well over 800 on the dyno. That car wasn't fast, it was fkn stupid. I mean, absolutely glue your head to your head rest burn rubber going to fifth at 120mph stupid. Got rid of it when I had my first son.

Point being, I test drove a ZL1 and a BOSS before settling on my taco (yes, much different vehicle... but I had a daughter in the process of choosing) and those cars are equally stupid fast. The cars from the late 90's and early 00's don't hold a candle to these cars. In fact, speed is a measure of time as much as it is horsepower. It goes up and down, but technology is an ever growing beast when speaking of automotive applications.

My 69 GSX had a 455, naturally aspirated at 420 horsepower. They are cranking that out of 5 liters now. It is insane. 6cyl cars are pulling close to that. But taco's? I have to agree, kind of a silly thought. But... to each their own right? They did make something called an XR, it didn't last long, but they made it.

Here is my last point: Fast can also be measured by the type of vehicle one is playing around with. Tuner fast is not euro fast is not muscle fast is not truck fast. Dakota 5.9's once ruled the mid-size pickup road. Chevy Xtremes just made pansies feel fast. I think that if someone wants to have a "fast" (quotations intentional) tacoma they can have it. It wouldn't take much, I mean most of us are just trying to get our duratracs and torque specific rear ends out of the way of some prius's electric bumper who doesn't want us to merge on the free way.

Stepping down from the soap box. It was a pleasure, I will be here all week.

Have you ridden in a Lightning? I watch 'em run 12 flat at the Steele AL drag strip all the time. That's not exactly "slow". Don't know about the raptors, however. One guy had a Dodge Ram SRT10 that ran just under 11.0, but I do not know if it was stock or not.
