4.0 V6 Performance Mods (1gr-fe)

What options for more hp is there for the 1GR-FE without spending 5k to supercharge?

 

Have you looked at top left of your screen... under forums.... then scroll down to performance and tuning section?

Zero. All "options" are really just snake oil. Supercharge or nothing.

 

Bore it over and compound boost that bitch for more powah!!!!!!!!!!! Twin turbos pumping into the supercharger. I'm talking some fury road shit!!!

 

A URD Supercharger is your only option!!!

 

The most power I seen looking through these threads is 245whp/298tq on a dyno jet. Looking through the mods it looks like he paid close to as much as the urd kit. Supercharger it is. Im pretty butt hurt my truck only puts down 191whp/230tq stock.

 

This is going to be an expensive build. Still have to regear diff, clutch kit and urd throwout bearing fix

 

A big ass cai and hood skewp....wont do Jack but the teenage kids will think you are uber kewl

Narrowed Ford 9" rear, wheel tubs, and Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires.

 

URD has intake and exhaust systems that will net you maybe 35hp at the wheels total. That's about the extent of your bolt on power. If you want a real power increase, you need to supercharge.

The URD supercharger is amazing. I found myself rolling around in Mexico the other day and hung with a healthy sounding 65 mustang to 100mph. When my brother had this truck, he did a best of 13.9 in the 1/4 mile at only 4psi of boost. I addressed a neglected bypass valve on the intake and now see 9psi of boost...

First lesson in going fast, realize that you NEED to pay to play.

I'd look for a nice condition S10/Jimmy and LSx it.

Easier, cheaper, just like an easy bake oven.
