My DT shortie box says CARB Approved, they must not have updated their website very much

MagnaFlow® - Direct Fit OEM Grade Catalytic Converter with Header VS Doug Thorley Shorties

I originally wanted to go with DT headers however the MagnaFlow seems appealing only because I will not have to do any welding and comes prefabricated with the CAT already. From an installation perspective this seems easier and possibly less expensive (will not have to pay a welder) however I will still have a reputable mechanic install whichever headers I choose to go with.

Yea but the shortie headers that come with cats are way more expensive than getting them welded. If you can turn a wrench you can take your own headers off and have some one swap the cats over and save even more money. It doesnt take a skilled mechanic to pull headers. Shit, I've never fucked with a car engine in my life, but I can follow instructions and turn a wrench like no other and I installed my Supercharger in 16 hours

Wouldnt u rather they be able to test fit with a few tacks instead of comitting to it without mockup?

Not for use in CA. Looks like just OEM replacement headers. Not performance headers. DT did a bit more testing on airflow and performance to get the tubes the right way

Was actually planning on making a wood jig with headers already installed in it so they can just cut cats off and put DT headers in place

Ok yeah I'm in VA so there are no issues there. Did not know about the performance difference in DT headers and others. I will most likely still go with DT Shorties. However it will probably get pricey with the welding required and the installation.
