4/10/21 Pioneer town to Big Bear

Driver Front steering knuckle bent l, alignment was fucked but able to drive home.
Side curtain air bags deploy, no front or seats.
Went thru a whoop to fast at night going around a corner in El Mirage

 

Sounds like more fun than stupid.

Sucks to heard that though, as long as you and your passengers are OK.

 

It was tell that point. Damn airbags scared the shit out of me, it was just me in the truck.

I do have some new gear that could use a shake-out run.

Would a stock T4R on street tires (30" hankooks with a non-AT tread pattern) and possibly blown out RAS/XREAS suspension be able to do it? I slacked off on doing the suspension replacement last weekend, but wouldn't be able to fit the "real" tires until I get the bumpers (still in fab) mounted. I've got my PreRunner on a 2" lift and 32" duratracs but the 4Runner is part of the new gear anyway (just not built yet).

I'm halfway thinking that if I could get motivated enough to get out there from LAX at 8AM, I should probably spend the day wrenching instead.

Too many things pointing to me missing this one. Stock height truck and blew out my ACL two months back. Got the big boy surgery lined up for the end of this month. Hopefully be back in the dirt by summer.

Thanks. I’ve done this before on my other knee. Speedy isn’t the word Id use, but I’ll cross my fingers. At least I’ll have time to buy / research the mods I’ll want for when I can get back in the saddle.

 

Damn this sounds fun. Perfect time of year too. Too bad I’m getting back from Big Sur Friday night or else I’d love to join.

I was just up in big bear (holcomb valley ranch) pretty cool trails in that area. Thinking of joining you guys. This would be my first time doing a run on here. Maybe ill take the gf's new Rav4 TRD
