4/22/2023 Philly Cheesesteak-over

I was there from about 11:15 until things broke up around 2 I guess. Up in the front by the building. Attendance was down from other years but with the golfers we were spread out. Catch up with you another time.

It's breaking the ice that can be challenging--not everyone is a social butterfly--not saying I am, by any stretch! lol

I was wondering...has anyone made a sign or displayed anything to distinguish the gathering?

I don't wanna be tagged to generate a "sign" but maybe that would be easier for members to approach a group.

Kevin directed me towards the bathroom then i asked if he knew where the guy who was tuning was and he said it was him haha

Maybe, we should wear some garb to indicate we are TacomaWorld-Knuckleheads. LOL

Other than congregating in one area with our Trucks, what else should we do?

 

I think a banner as you suggested will work. Once word gets out and people show interest they will congregate to the 3-4-5 or 6 Tacomas they see parked together

 

or i can just pull up with my obvious mall crawler and be a ‘lighthouse’ for the meet lol

I'm sorry if I missed anyone. I left around 12:35 ish. Had to get back home for a birthday party for our oldest daughter's boyfriend's son (he turned 4).

Usually once a couple of us are together, its easy to find who all is in the group.

I agree (this was only my second one I attended), attendance was down this year but being a nice day & scheduled later may have lead to it.

 

A place with a bathroom next time would be nice.

 

I used the bathroom at the golf course.

This was after I walked over to the gas station and found out they did not have a bathroom.

 

Chubby's (across from Delessandro's) has a bathroom but only for patrons.

 

I got there about 10:30am and it wasn't open yet. I was at the gas station next to Chubby's.

Came back to the parking area and saw several people coming from the Golf Course area...asked one of the guys crossing the street, "hey, they got a public bathroom over there?" His response, "I'm a regular."

I guess that meant he could use it. lol

Anyhow, I walked into the door everyone was walking into (check-in area) and just followed the bee-line to the bathroom.

What a relief! I walked back to the area where Larry & his Sequoia were parked and introduced myself. By then, Kevin had already arrived.

 

Anyone up for a ride down Batona trail? I had thrown this around a few months ago about waiting until the weather got nice. Maybe in June?
I'm thinking meet at the Atsion lake trailhead/Wharton office and down to Batsto village.
If there's interest I'll make a meetup thread

 

If you are taking about Wharton state Forrest in NJ. Stay out of it lots of big mud hole and booby traps. Not worth it

 

I grew up in Wharton. Batona is always groomed. Once and a while you get some ruts but if we stick to the trail it's just sand and gravel.
