Has anyone gone 4.30's with stock'ish tires? I know many go 4.88's if running 33's+ but i'll never go over 32" tires but feel 4.30's would give a nice improvement. Just wondering if anyone else has experience and if they bought oem 4.30's from toyota, 4.30's from a manual tacoma, or aftermarket?

How would this improve your truck? Do you need lower gearing for rock crawling? More low end grunt? Towing a lot? With stock tires, I personally feel it's fine the way it is. If I went 33, I would maybe jump to 4.56.

You wouldn't gain anything from it.

The Final drive Ratio for 2016 AT with 3.90 is 2.267
The Final drive Ratio for 2016 AT with 4.30 is 2.494

    Compare to 4.88 and 5.29 on a 2016 AT

Final Drive with 4.88 is 2.83
Final Drive with 5.29 is 3.06

Compare to a 2016 MT with stock 4.30

    Final drive ratio is 3.053

thanks for the info. i found that chart and yeah, even with 4.88's you're at 2.83 final vs the manual's 3.05 in 6th gear.
