4 6.5 Memphis Mojos

Hello everyone, I am installing 4 Memphis mojo 6.5’s. I am having a hard time with what to pair them with. Should I pair them with the sundown audio salt-2 or should I get 2 1500w amps and power 2 of the speakers to an amp?

 

If you’re putting 4 subs in 1 cabinet, 2 separate amps wouldn’t be good, performance wise.

What kind of power upgrades did you go with? Alt, battery, cables? Curious on brand and model choice.

 

what kind of box, sealed, ported? what size? do they share airspace? did you already order the subs--what ohm rating did you get?

 

I haven’t bought any power upgrades yet, I was gonna see how it did stock once I installed it then decide after that.

 

I bought the 2 ohm subs, I’m doing a sealed box. I’ll post a pic once I build it tonight or tomorrow.

 

Pushing 4K watts….count on power upgrades.

 

I’m only gonna be pushin like 1600-2000 watts. I only went with a 2000 watt amp after researching the subs more.

 

Still, what’s the amperage draw of the amps all together? Mine is 160amps, I now have a Mechman 250Amp alternator and a NorthStar 27F AGM battery. I’ve also wired the Big3 with 1/0ga. copper wire. A big electrical load would have killed my stock alt., and I HATE being on the side of the road, dead.

I’d say at least budget for it. You may get away with stock for a while, but remember where you might end up.

 

Actual rating on those subs is more like 350W RMS, they'll let the magic smoke out running 700W for any length of time.

1400W...forget it.

It sounds super clean, puts out a lot of bass as well. I would recommend this to everyone.
