    I agree and disagree with this if you use your vehicle offroad a lot. A lot of guys are going to 33s because it looks cool and occasionally drive down a dirt road or forest road. In those cases I would agree that a tune would be fine and gears may be a waste. Otherwise if you intend to offroad a lot and in harder terrain, gears before anything else. I usually do gears before even getting bigger tires.

    Some have, I have never done gears and probably never will. The biggest thing for me is its a critical part that I have no experience doing, the other factor is that gears are not changed out unless needed so its not really a repeatable process to learn. I'd rather take it to someone who has done 1000s. The ECGS prices are hard to beat. If you buy the gears and have a local shop do it, expect around $1000+ in labor
