I have a brand new in the box set of Toyota 8" 4.88 R&P for $200. Bought them in May and never realized they weren't what I wanted and it was too late to return them. Need to sell them so I can order the right set. Buyer pays shipping if not located near Fresno California.

Why the change of heart of the gear set after you purchased it?

At the time i didnt know what came stock in the 08 so I had the shop look it up they told me it was a 8" with 4.56's so i ordered 4.88's. Well they were wrong stock is a 7.5" with 373's so I need 7.5" with 4.10's. Wasnt a change of heart just wrongly informed guess I need to do my own research from now on.

Weird. I thought stock was 8".

I'm going to do a bit more digging. 4.88s are exactly what I plan to swap to. Creepy that I just posted about it today.

I'll let you know what I come up with.

Ive called every dealership in fresno county and none of them can tell me what size it is they only can tell me they have 3.73's in them. Its been a huge run around for me but either way I need to sell these. Lemme know what you come with though.

I looked up the Number its for a 4 cylinder 8" axle. Doesn't say if its e locker or not.

I got 4.10 in mine, and its the e locker 8"

Edit: According to g2 what i need is 2-2043-488

Mines a v6 thats what we ordered them for. My buddy is the one that owns the shop and he said he looked up the wrong year for what was stock in my truck. I also have the e locker so it is for that.

Ive been told so much different crap from toyota dealers I've been pulling my hair out. I've even called fearless gear and trail gear and they have no idea either. I do have the locker so it would be the 8.0 im just tired of not knowning. Either way I want 4.10's not 4.88's since stock is 3.73

All the V6 rears are an 8" ring gear. The locker has an 8" housing, while the non locked rear is an 8.4". The 4cyl. trucks have 4.10 gears. The 5 luggers have an 7.5" rear ring gear.

i dont think so, i have 285/75/16s and 4.88s and i love it! theres alot of power! buutt mileage doesnt go up much, only 2ish:( but the power is great and rpms stay pretty neutral while cruising on the freeway, alot of people have asked me if it revs too high but around 65-70 im at 2300 rpms but i love my gears! bump:D
