You don't need a supercharger. Use this equation to find what gears you need. If your stock tire size is 265/70/16 (30.6") and your NEW size is 285/75/16 (32.8) the math adds to 4.39 gears. They don't make that gear, they make a 4.30 but the rule of thumb is to go to the next size, which would be 4.56 gears. That will get you close to the stock RPMs for daily driving. I have 4.88's in my truck with 35's and it feels like stock. Now, if you want more power then yes, a supercharger will be best but you're looking at least $3500.

Also, you do click the overdrive button OFF when you go uphill?

Changed the rear output seal of the transmission
When i purchased the Tacoma the tires were stock size 265/70/16 then i had to get a lift exhaust and bigger tires so ive been using 285/75/16 tires for the last couple years. the gears ive found were 4.56 , 4.88 , 5.2 the guy at the shop said with a automatic transmission and the tires that im running i should do 4.88 also i dont even mess with the overdrive button.

4.88's would be good if you're towing, waiting faster acceleration off the line but will kill your top speed and bring your RPM's higher at high speeds. I think 4.56's would be the best all around gears for your setup but just for peace of mind, call Nitro Gear https://nitro-gear.com/ those guys are very helpful and they know exactly what you need.

Now for the overdrive button, I would try turning off your OD when you're climbing a hill and see if that works before re-gearing. I'm 2wd drive and it cost me about $1000 to regear (parts and labor). If you're 4wd, that will be double.

I've read quite a few of these threads and this summarizes what I've learned:

    Common Gear sizes: 4.10 (stock), 4.30 (stock 4runner), 4.56, 4.88, 5.29

    Ideal gearing consensus:
    3.4 Auto on 33's: 4.88
    3.4 Manual on 33's: 4:56
3.4 Manual on 32's: 4.30 (from my experience, but I was a single cab)

Go up a size if you wheel regularly or are on 35's

    Hope this helps!

This is the most accurate gear ratio calculator I've found. I used it to regear two different tacomas and the RPMs were pretty spot on what the calculator showed.
