Is anyone on here running this combination in a regular cab? Is it livable? I know that it is pretty low, but this truck rarely sees more than 55 mph, usually closer to 45. I'm looking at 4.88 gears and ARB air lockers. Or is there a better way to get that low speed crawlability(?) and control?

I should note I had a 2009 regular cab with 4.88's and arb lockers. When I had it, my username on here was gtrotter if you wanted to check it out. But with that combo I had 255/85r16 k02 tires on steelies. I'll eventually go back to that, but would like to make due in the mean time. I've also contemplated the taco box, as that wasn't available when I had my 2009.

I think you'd be alright. You have 4.10 factory anyways since you're a 4 cylinder. Jumping to 4.88 isn't that horribly drastic.

I’d pick your gear ratio based what tire size would be running in the long run.

what do you do with the truck? If you’re looking for gear reduction for crawling, crawlbox all day. Best thing you can do if you’re going to play in the rocks.

**edit - but if you’re not crawling, then the crawlbox is not worth the money/time/effort.
