    is it really bad? I want 285's but I dont want to regear. Whats the chances I dont mind the stock gears?

    Ive had 33s on since I bought the truck, about 80k miles, and I don't mind. I get 20 mpg, 18 if I drive faster. 3rd gear is a must goin up hills if ur doin 40 or above but besides that I don't mind it at all

    Thanks guys. I have 265/70/17 C rated BF ats right now and Im thinking about going to D rated BF ats or even the Rugged Terrain in the 285/70/17. Only took the truck off road maybe 4-5 times the first year and a half I had it so that doesnt matter. Right now the 265 C BFs are pretty good and doesnt kill the power much. Im thinking about even staying at a C rated Rugged if I do. Just not sure what I want yet so Im asking everyone. Thanks again

    I'm running the 255/85/16 KM2s and they are great off road but suck on freeway hills with stock gears.

    33x12.5x15 load range C! stock 4:10 gears runs perfectly fine to me.. not a huge loss in power but mpgs yes lol
    i love em and they stick out about 3&1/4 inches from the fender i almost got the size you have but i figured go big or go home kinda thing haha oh yeah i have to down shift going up hills

    Mine are e-range & 55lbs each (3lbs less than yours) & .5" taller with stock gears (4:10). We have mountains & hills and I've had to drop to 3rd and still not maintained speed at times.

    Haha glad you got a chuckle, I've been mocking up a sort of hybrid for the 93 as of late. Your truck is a beaut man, very clean.

    No skids yet, new header/exhaust and wheels/tires take precedence :cool:

    ive had to do that a couple times but rarely i do pretty much all highway driving its flat for the most part just city driving has a slow take off but i shift at 2k rpms in the city cause its not like im gonna hit highway speed and then stop at a light but to me the stock gears do just fine..not really xomplaining about power an speed cause that isnt what this truck is made for

    i got 33X12.50-15 kumhos and mine stick out the same just like yours and yes the MPG are pretty bad lol the only down fall of a 4-banger
    also how are those tires? thought about putting some...do they ride good, and how many miles do have on them and how many do you expect to get out of them?

    yeah i dont even keep track of the mpgs anymore as long as i dont fill up twice a week im good haha
    theyre awesome super smooth cant feel the nugs of the tread they handle awesome! they came with 19/32s and i have 15 k on them and have 16-17/32s left still... idk how long they would last me but at least two more years i hope
    I actually wanted the Kumhos but went this route how are they?

    well i travel the hwy everyday about 45 miles round trip so they are not really lasting like i hoped they would but i didt have my hopes too high (they are a mud tire) but i had to replace my driver side front tire because somehow the inside wall got punctured (unfix-able)...needless to say i was pissed off and the worst part is i had about half tread from what they started with so now im riding with one brand new tire and 3 used tires lol other than that they handle well in the mud although they do hum quite a bit once they start to ware. right now i have about 30k miles on them with about 40% tread
