hey guys new here, and Ive been looking at buying a used tacoma with moderate mileage for a daily driver and fishing on the beach here in NJ. Ive been basically ruling out the 4 bangers and only looking at 6 bangers simply because of my fathers advice for driving in the sand. Any one on here take there 4 cylinder 4x4 tacomas out on the beach? any problems? concerns?

At the end of the day it's about tires and common sense. 2 extra cylinders won't overcome the lack of either.

I took my 4cyl Tacoma 4x4 to a lake with beach like sand and to the sand dunes. In my experience, you need traction not a big engine. I ran BFG A/T size 265/75/16 at 12psi and the truck crawled around easily in sand. I don't consider the beach harder to drive on than sand dunes.
