Did a fillup today after a trip to Mom's for Christmas.

    402.7 miles, 15.93 gallons = 25.3 MPG.

Not to bad considering a 20-30 MPH headwind coming back to KC. Kept the speed to between 70-75 MPH on the speedo. But did have a slight tailwind on the way there.

    Happy Holidays to all

Drove up today to Gatlinburg for New Years, first trip after installing my 5100s at 1.75 up front to level the truck out with the TSB rear leafs.

331.8 miles on 13.6 gallons for 24.4 mpg. 80% was driving interstate at 70-75 mph actual speed (speedo was 73-80). Filled to the first click at departure and at fill up.

I'm absolutely thrilled with the mileage, I actually think leveling out the truck helped the aerodynamics, because I had been getting 22-23 highway even on summer gas, even while driving ~65 mph on flat land. I had the wife with me along with about 100 lb of gear. I have a vinyl tonneau but I also have a hitch which adds weight.

24 mpg with a lifted Prerunner Double Cab? Yes please. :D

I'm game. But I never let my gas light turn on because I'm afraid I'll get stuck :/ On my moms caddy she thought she can go an extra 10 miles or so but nope. As soon as the baby turned on the car shut down :/

When the gas light comes on you've got about 90 miles left at highway mpg. I usually go about 50 miles past when the light goes on and then look for a station.

You really should, considering you get the best fuel economy on the last quarter of the tank due to the weight!

Okay, so I made the trip back from the mountains today with mixed results. My tank of E10 that took me into, over, and through the mountains and around the towns gave me 22.7 mpg! I was pretty impressed given how much loaded city and incline driving I had done.

Things got bad after that though. I found an ethanol-free station where I topped off, but the rest of the trip was made unenjoyable and frustrating by a consistent 30 mph wind that was coming of the front right at first and then from directly ahead after I made the turn west. I knew it was bad because every flagpole I saw (including the large car dealer ones) the flags were flying straight out from the pole, pointing against my direction of travel. I had my hands full keeping her straight at times, and into the headwind I didn't have any reserve power in OD at highway speed. It was miserable and for the last 300 miles I clocked only 21.1 mpg . I'm calling a mulligan on this one due to the conditions, and I'll get a good highway trip sometime this week so I can settle this 5100 lift and mpg issue.

(For the record, the wind was not blowing much on the trip up, so it didn't play a factor in my good 24.5 mpg tank. Stay tuned)

Winter gas and cold, not much we can do.

    476.5 miles and 18.852 gallons for 25.2 mpg. :(

Two more months and it's back into the low 30s hopefully.

I'm in the same boat. Looks like with my new rims and tires, winter blend gas, cold weather, and complete lack of highway mileage, I'm averaging in the low 20's right now. I was averaging 24-25 MPG last winter.

It's just winter and driving conditions. My last tank was all city, trips of 5 miles or less and I barely broke 20 mpg. No snowstorms down here either!

My mileage wasn't as impressive as some others, but it was acceptable considering I drive a truck that I use quite a bit as a truck.

With the Winter though I haven't put up numbers here. They are much better than the guy I work with that has a Silverado 2500 though.

I'm due for an oil change so I'm going to ask for synthetic. I'm also looking for my next set of tires. Weight and rolling resistance will be two variables I consider that I previously didn't.

I doubt synthetic oil would account for more than 1 MPG. Its just the winter weather, more warm-up time ect.

If it would ever turn into winter here(it will soon enough) my mileage would go down big time. In mid to late fall I was up near 27, and now around 25, so I gues I am hurting a bit. But usually by now I will have had several tanks in the low 23's. We basically have not had winter here. It's NICE !

Filled up this afternoon- 315.1 miles 12.9 gallons = 24.50 MPG Not bad, I had more 4 mile short trips at 40 MPH max speed. Half my cold starts are from a heated garage, that helps a bit.
