i suggest you study hyper miling, before suggesting your use of it. i dare you to take a poll and list mpgs in segments of 2. ie 20-22,22-24. i promise you that the majority can not duplicate this garbage you are claiming. remember, other drivers are on the road too.

Love my 4 cylinder. Goes fast enough for me. Will run 80-85 MPH all day without working hard, if you need too. Very rarely do that. Don't drive very fast or slow normally. I coast to a lot of red lights, and try to learn traffic light patterns.

If I drive the bad(fun) way it 2-3 MPG less.

It only takes a basic amount of knowledge and understanding to get 30 MPG. The problem is the vast majority of drivers are too ignorant to try it.

There are varying levels of hypermiling. Using very simple driving techniques such as driving slower, and not racing off the line (both of which are actually safer for other drivers), you can drastically improve your MPG.

Just because you can't drive efficiently, doesn't mean other people can't. You are the one who is severely lacking in knowledge, yet are still in here debating (more like trolling, because you have no evidence what-so-ever) with people who are highly educated on this topic.

Yes, you're using decimals because your trip ODO displays mileage to the tenth. And gas stations meter their fuel down to the thousandth. Not sure what you're saying there.

you are not an engineer, i call bullshit on the too. i studied engineering when deciding my major. an enginner would not trust a gas pump for obvious reasons or a gas meter for misreadings.

Please explain what these "obvious reasons" are.

If you fill your tank until the first time the pump shuts off, then you're numbers are going to be very accurate. If anything, the gas stations would want to pay for more fuel than you actually pumped into your tank. But this would only cause our MPG to appear worse. Of course there are slight variations in the amount that each pump will administer prior to shutting off, but we're talking MAYBE a tenth of a gallon. Not enough to mess with your calculations.

Additionally, the vehicles ODO has been tested by GPS and was found to be accurate within 1%...

Your intelligence speaks for itself in this thread. You admit that you are not an engineer, yet you are arguing with people who ARE engineers. Please spread your ignorance somewhere else.

lol omg dude let in go. many things go into an accurate measurement. you would state what those were if you were an engineer. i didn't mean to get you so upset. have a good night darlin.

oh and for the record...your getting way more than advertised on the sticker. i know you hyper miling. when nobody else can duplicate it, you are an incredible "engineer" hahah

Well thanks for pissing all up in my thread there ol Revvy.

Whats this dude Rev's issue? Look bud, if anyone is being a douche, IT'S YOU. None of us asked you to chime in, you want to have ZERO logical debate after calling other 4 banger members out about their MPGs. You want to call everyone "an idiot who dosen't know to do basic math". If we're SOOOO wrong, show us the error of our way, oh wait, you still haven't done that in almost 2 pages of your worthless posts. Andrew and Worthy are fudging their numbers is all you've managed to come up with in the 16 posts you made in this thread.

What I think we have is a big issue of someone pissed off about their own V6 and super jelly of the 4 banger MPG. He even admitted he wanted a 4 banger. What else would prompt such a childish reaction about how to do some simple math and other ppls MPGs?

I love the "no one can duplicate" bullshit to Rev, there are TWO, TWO guys in this thread who have both gone over 500 miles to a tank of gas. But thats not duplication or anything.

Piss off Rev, go back to the 2nd gen forum. I've never used the "report" button, I did here, I'm not gonna put up with that shit, in my thread, where we're tyring to have a good fucking time. I hate to sound petty, but every post you make after this, I will report, I won't have this thread locked b/c of your shit, so quit, you look stupid.

Ha, I just noticed...your 36, jesus, and in here pulling crap like you're 16. Grow up, you're almost 40.

And whats with the gas pump shit? Think about it engineers and those who studied engineering, what are the 2 choices if the pump is wrong?

Choice #1 - The pump is wrong and we're actually putting in less gas than what the pump says so that the gas station can make a little bit more $$.

Why it's stupid - This would actually INCREASE the MPGs when calculated. If the pump said Andrew put in 17 gallons, but really he only put in 16.5, his MPGS would IMPROVE EVEN MORE.

Choice #2 - The pump is wrong is we're actully putting in more gas than what the pump says.

Why it's stupid - THIS IS TOTAL LOSS FOR THE GAS STATION AND BAD BUSINESS. THEY WOULD BE GIVING YOU FREE GAS. Really think that's gonna happen?

    G.T.F.O. of my thread RevDull.

Lose the attitude. Yes, you know these are 4 bangers but did you take notice they are also 5 lugs? Smaller tires? Less weight? Different gear ratio?

And as stated prior, it is able to be duplicated and has been.

Mr. Andrew Falk's statements can be verified by other drivers, including myself. On a few occasions I have been able to attain 30 miles per gallon. I was not hypermiling whatsoever, I have no experience or desire to drive in that manner.

30 miles per gallon is an attainable figure; since you do not own a Tacoma equipped with a 2.7L 2TR-FE Four Cylinder, I believe that your input on this subject is invalid and quite ignorant.

Also looking forward to several road trips in the near future. Hopefully be able to attend a 3rd Regional meet (About a 3 hour drive, worth every mintue) then another trip to Cincinnati to watch the Bengals get spanked by the Stealers.
