24.6mpg. I was going to go for a 400 mile tank but saw that the gas prices were going up 20 to 25 cents. Gas Buddy showed me a station that was still under $3/gallon. On Memorial day, I removed the secondary air/charcoal filter to see if there was a mpg increase. I filled up on 6/2 and was at 22mpg. Todays fill up was a 2.5mpg increase. Time will only tell if the removal is good for more mpg or will the ECU adjust and mpg drops.

Meh, that thing has almost no resistance to flow, and even if it did, that charcoal filter can't affect mpg. The computer pretty much bases its calculations on readings from the MAF sensor; it doesn't really matter if intake restriction is modified via charcoal filter, air filter, or throttle plate; no matter what, it takes a certain amount of air to make just enough power to keep a speed, and that's all the computer cares about. It's virtually never full throttle anyways which is the only time the throttle plate is less restriction than anything else.

Doesn't hurt anything as long as you don't need an emissions inspection though.

Now for my bad news, I got to 94 miles on the trip meter today, with the gas needle on 3/4 and the ultragauge reading a tank average of 17.0 mpg. Eek. This road construction detour is really cramping my style!

Lately my commute has changed. On the way home I travel in light traffic that doesn't exceed 60mph. As a result, I have changed my shift points and my mpg has increased. My biggest change is my shifting points for 3-4, 4-5 now happen at around 1750rpm. I am getting mpg close to what I got when the truck was new. My morning commute speeds, on the other hand, average about 75 mph. I suppose I could increase my mpg further, but it's hard waking up on time now days :)

Well I'm out in the Yosemite area driving a rental Hyundai Sonata. Rated 25/37. Averaged 34 on built in computer.

Not that impressed, but then it's an automatic. I'm told they are the shit, and can beat manuals all day with recent advancements? I know a nicely geared stick would not have gotten me only 34.

Tanks at least good for 500+ miles though so that's not bad.

Maybe on the drive back to SF I can get some better numbers.

Last tank was 20.1 and the tank before that was 19.4. I am in much need of an alignment.

Don't remember the miles but got 20.09 this past tank. Got stuck and fought it for 15 minutes then spent half an hour pulling a friend out on this tank. Not to bad if you consider all the time spent at 3500+

My average mpgs in my little 4x4 is about 22. I did manage a pretty sweet tank of 24.6 recently. It could be my imagination but when I'm hauling things in the bed, I tend to get an mpg or two better than when I'm not.

Best tank in awhile, gassed up last almost 2 months ago. Would have been more like 3 months but I drove 2 round trips to Denver Airport, and 2 other trips to Denver.

608 Miles on 18.832 gallons for 32.3 mpg.

With Safeway rewards $2.119 a gallon.

I've been averaging 22-24 mpg around town with some light wheeling in there in my little 1st Gen 3rz 5spd 4x4. Pretty pleased with these numbers and I swear it goes up every time I fill up.

Have averaged 21.6 MPG my last 10 tanks. About half of the total mileage is hi speed interstate, the rest trips of about 3 miles twice a day, to and from work. The high was 24.6 and the low 17.5 MPG

My current tank is well below 20 for the 1st quarter of the tank, thanks to hot weather and only short trips so far on this tank.

I'm jelly as fuck. Words cannot express.

    I have a hard time hitting 20, usually 18.5-19.5 on 41 lb P metric 265 ATs and 3" lift.

I drive like a total grandpaw. I make a lot of people mad riding behind me. I know this tank will be much worse though.
