4" camburg spindles installed (pics)

Can I ask a dumb question? Why don't they make spindle lifts for 4x4? I get the differential needing to connect to the wheel for the 4x4 part, but why not make it? Is it a matter of strength, durability engineering???

not a dumb question...

its because in order to lift the truck 4", they move the bottom mount of the spindle up. therefore it moves up 4" and is now located exactly where the front drive shaft is in the center of the hub! make sense? this is the reason only prerunners can run the spindle, no front drive shaft.

ok, w/ your pic, the rectangle is where the lower mount is. the circle is the drive shaft. notice how the driveshaft is in the same location of the mount....this is why you cant do it. both the mount and driveshaft want to occupy the same space, and only one of them can.

 

Ah, I see...that sucks for us 4x4 guys
