My Mom just moved from Windsor to Cloverdale last week. Used to chill in H-town. The river on the back side of Fitch mountain. Racer 5 at Bear Republic and had friends that worked at Willies and Dry Creek Kitchen.

The 2.7 is plenty for long trips and hauling around all the gear you'll need. Mine is starting to lose its street ability so a regear is for sure in its future. But Im gonna wait a but longer I'm sure once I get an rtt and bed rack I'll end up regearing. Just gotta save weight where you can.

I'm interested in a similar build with my DD 4 banger in the future right now I have everything stock except king RRs oems x4's with stock leafs. My next hardest decision will be the tire size after my stock ones are used up. 255/85/16 vs 265/75/16 vs 275/70/16. I mostly do mixed desert terrain/soft sand.

You would be surprised what 2665/75/16 will get you through plus retain drivability. My buddy has his leveled with 265s and it can do more than enough trails just need to be smart about it.

I ended up swapping them over to a 92' pickup and forgot to get pics. They look good stock but even better with the OME 881's and Dakars. It had about 5" between the tire and wheel opening front and 6" rear. The Taco looks really goofy right now with 235/75 15's on it right now.

Not mine check post #8, 32

Oh yeah, my build is dead in the water right now. After months of searching I finally found a drive shaft that should go in next week to finish my 5 speed swap. Also in the works for this month are 5 refurbished 16 hole spares with 255/85 16 ST Maxx's. Also going to rebuild the parts truck 2.7 with 109k over the winter. Planning on disconnecting balance shafts, LCE throttle body, stage 1 cams and valve kit, under drive pulley, electric fan, swap over LCE header from current 2.7, snorkel, URD MAF and Flow Master Delta flow 50 or Magnaflow 22". Hoping to have that much done by spring. Probably do Trail Gear bumpers F/R, All Pro bed rack and ARB 4.88 diffs F/R in the next year.

Im not on 35s or a solid axle so im thinking this is where i'll fit in. When my tires wear out I will probably go 255/85 cooper st with 3" lift. After that and wheels, I might start on an expo trailer. I don't like the thought of a tent or rack on my truck at all times, hoping to have everything on the trailer so I wont have to load anything.

I'm pretty sure you don't need a lift to clear 255's on stock rims if you wanted to go without a lift. I'm not going to drive fully loaded all the time either. The bed rack will do double duty for lumber and work truck. I also have 9 miles of semi maintained to barely make it to work dirt roads to get to pavement and go to work or town. If it snows or rains hard it's a 45 min. expedition just to get to the hard ball.

Haha, well previously I was planning on a 2" lift but I feel like I will get tire of all my buddies making fun of the skinnies so I'll jump up to. 285s, maybe 305s.
