    3.31 for the manuals

    4 banger prerunners and 4wd's have 4.10

not a single regret with mine. 2000 ext. cab 5 speed 4x4. i pull a 16 foot bass boat to the lake with it no problems, gets good mileage (21-22) with a 3" lift and 32's. and i pump v6 tacoma's all the time from stand still, rolling, on the freeway, whatever! if i had it to do over again i'd buy the same exact truck and do the same exact stuff with it!!

Love my 4 cyl 2007 AC 4x4. I'm running 265/70/R17s and still have plenty of power and get 400+ miles out of a tank of gas when city driving. I take it in sand and mud, but mostly trail ride and it has plenty of power.

This is my second 2.7 stick. My first was bought back for rust with 132K on it. No problems just regular maintenance. The 2.7 is supposed to be bullet proof and a clutch is cheaper then an auto to repair. My wife likes the way it rides so I didn't get the extra spring. I don't haul any real heavy stuff. I plan to drive it till it drops or they buy it back for rust but I don't have as much rust as a lot of posters have.

I've had both, a 3.4 six in a 96 extra cab, that I drove for 190,000 miles and a new 2.7 access cab, juyst turned 10K miles. Both were 5 speed standards. I miss the 3.4 because the 2.7 is anemic in comparison to the six.
I have called on the 2.7 to haul my motorcycle, several loads of firewood, concrete blocks etc. It has gotten the job done although it requires alot more down shifting than the six.
I shoudn't complain because I'm commuting 100 miles per day and consistently getting 30-31 MPG while running the AC.

I'm happy with mine. Do I miss the full size V-8? Yes, but the Tacoma gets the job done and doesn't stop at every gas station. :) As far as the Ram - I've had my Tacoma for over two years and I'm still trying to pay off the repair bills from my '02 Ram. If you go that route, get rid of it before you hit 80,000 miles!

It's not new, it's not Mexico
My 1999 Ext-cab 2.4 Auto had 128K when it got totaled. That engine was a little slow but got good gas mileage and was trouble free. I would have kept it another 10 years. Now I have a 2010 Reg-cab 2.7 Auto, it gets 25 to 27 MPG and should be running great long after I'm gone. Don't hesitate to buy a 4 cylinder Toyota truck or car.

I have no regrets with my 4 banger 09 access cab 4x4. I did drop 4:88 gears in it for wheeling and pulling hills after putting 255/85/16 and locking it front and rear 57000+ on the odometer and not a single issue with it. Hands down one of the best trucks I have owned.

Did 340 miles in my 5 lug Access Cab yesterday, over 42,000 miles since I bought it in Oct, 08. I liked it so much my fishing buddy just bought a '10 5 lug Access Cab.

It pulss my boat like a champ, drives and rides like a car, and I have put 960 lbs in the bed on a run to the dump. What's not to like?
