This guy does a pretty good comparison between a 23 2.7 and 3.5 using a dragy. These units are really accurate and at no point is the 2.7 ahead. If you like your truck that's great its just not really a comparison in acceleration.

I have the 4 banger after having the gen 2. 6.
I wanted a truck for running to stores picking up wood… other stuff.
The one I chose was the only certified one available.

Not a chance. This is a race between a 3rd gen 4 cyl and a V6, both dual cab. The 4 cyl wins off the line the first few hundred feet before the V6 Catches up. My lighter access cab would do even better against a dual cab V6. I got your stump puller beat off the line.

Um it’s an in-line 4 not a V4. Further proof you have nothing of value to add to a thread with a question about a 4 cylinder in the title, lol.

On the sticker they are the same with the V6 slightly better but when I looked at fuelly the 4 banger gets around 10% better mpg. That means I get 400 miles out of my tank.

After 2015, when the engine was slightly upgraded, the VVT-i became available for both intake and exhaust camshafts - Dual VVT-i.
Initially it was only variable on the intake. The output #'s remained almost the same; within a few horsepower, torque stayed pretty much the same. The manual tranny was improved with triple syncro's and a lower first gear. As mentioned, compression was also bumped up.

My trucks a v6 access cab. I ran it against a buddies 2019 double cab trd 3.5 and its no contest. My truck, idk if its a lot lighter or it just runs well, but its a lot faster than my 4.7 v8 tundra.

you can even see the person driving the i4 react quicker than the v6. It looks like the i4 is only ahead for 30 ft or so despite the head start. Definitely not 100 ft.
No idea why you're so attached to the drag performance of a truck. I drive super slow. If I had an access cab, i'd buy a 2.7l

No doubt. Its obvious in the video the 4 jumps and is instantly run down by the 6. I posted dragy results last page the confirm the 4 is slower at all points as one would expect.

Depends on weights. My 2wd access cab 4cyl would beat a V6 dual cab 4wd OR off the line easily. The weight difference is why my truck has a 1500 lb cargo capacity vs 950-1050 lb rating for the latter. The 4cyl 4.3 diff vs the wimpy 3.91 for the V6 is also a factor.

    I’m having fun here lol.
