I had order a $40 plastic throttle body spacer for my 05 Tacoma 2.7l engine. When it arrived I realized it was for a 6 cylinder. Since their was a restocking and shipping fee, I figure I go ahead & try to alter it make it fit. When I lifted the throttle body off, I notice a OEM O-ring gasket that had a half moon type screen embedded in the rubber gasket. Called the manufacturer about this, and they said to leave it in place don't alternate it. The throttle body opening wasn't a problem but the bolt pattern was a little larger in diameter. I ended up enlarging the mounting holes, drilling out the 4 holes with a 3/8 inch drill bit, and then finished it off with using a rat file a little. So now it allow enough space to bolt the throttle spacer in place. Since the throttle body leans a little towards the passenger side you can no longer bolt the air housing down to the valve cover it's about 3/4 of an inch off. Called another vendor told them I had it for over a year lost the brackets and bolts. Want to purchased a replacement of hardware, they were nice enough to send me a free replacement pack. And yes it does help, idles a little smoother and a hair better in performance. The one thing it doesn't do is whistle! I've heard and read a lot of complaints about that on other forums and reviews. http://www.autoanything.com/air-intakes/volant-vortice-throttle-body-spacers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NTG9wIfpAs
