Like others have said you need to make sure you've got the hitch and wiring sorted out.

I have a v6 and the biggest issue towing was power for me. Truck felt fine otherwise. I was wishing I had a v8 going up steep hills at altitude so the 4 banger will be tough.

I think it's doable but you'll be hanging with the semis uphill with your flashers on. I don't think you'll need 4lo or be unable to move though. It's after 45mph that things slow down and it's mostly due to bad aerodynamics with a trailer so if the trailer is short that'll help a lot. I was towing a giant air brake.

I highly recommend a weight distribution hitch, that made a massive difference for me. I wouldn't want to tow a heavy load without one, those things are amazing.

I was being a bit sarcastic there . Sandstone mountain on I64 in WV is another very long steep grade. I’ve pulled my Tab up and down that stretch multiple times without issue.

To reiterate, the 2.7 RC will tow just fine, just slowly. Smell of clutch only happens when starting on a 5% with an altima kissing your trailer's ass

This thread will give you confidence.

    Wanted to add this..

Let'em give their CVT a workout and help by pushing.
