For about $1175 you can buy an old emu lift. Should serve your needs fine.

Next go find a 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch block. Hold that in you hand for a while. Size it up, analyze it. Next think is this half inch really worth the headache for ground clearance 285/70/17’s are really going to cause me vs running 265/70/17s.

As well having to throw new UCAs on or running wheel spacers that cause you to probably have to cab mount chop depending on your alignment guy.

List goes on and on. Just my 2 cents.

    I have a 5 lug. Although I am running a 235 75 in place of OE 215 70, a significant upsize. No lift/rub/cut.

Key to success is proper wheel fitment as well as tire dimension.

Here's some reading of interest for you 6 lug folks.

Myself, I'm just going to get the Pizza Cutters tires (255/85/16) "without lift". More importantly, I wont have to re-grear, nor will I wear out my suspension prematurely, nor worry about my warranty.

    But thats just me!

Working on it, dissent offroad racks, shift sense pro, pedal commander , ARB twin, rigid SS dually's , dual batteries, ARB fridge , 2.5 Fox coil overs wResi , 2.5 Fox rears w resi Total chaos UCA , deaver packs , Nitto trail grappler's 33" .
Then just do a Bilstien 5100 with OME coils and 5100 in back. Get a set of Dakar’s in back and Camburg/Totalchaos UCA’s.
This will be a perfect look for you while getting you on any trails.

I have 33's on my 16 with a 4 inch lift and I'm averaging on long trips 19 to 21 MPG just keep in mine that once you go to larger diameter tires your speedometer and mpg average on your gauge is going to be off. You have to purchase the Hypertech speedometer inline calibration kit to get the right numbers. Once I purchased the inline kit and programmed it my mpg numbers went up 2 to 3 points.I didn't realize that the mpg numbers would be off on the gauge one of the best investments I've made to this truck

@heyphillip which lift did you get? How wide is your tire? Did you have to do any trimming?

I'm too cheap for that I just do math to compensate for difference in tire size then fuel added.

Ditto this^^^^fir the most part. I have a fox suspension 3” and Nitto ridge grapplers 295/70/17 so heavy 33” tires.
I didn’t do the Hypertech for one reason ....I did the suspension and tires for offroad, I just don’t care what the MPG’s are and my power is just fine. Did not notice any loss of power on flat land or mountains! As for MPH lol just go with the flow.
If I cared about that shit I would have bought a Prius or a corvette!
Do what you want and don’t sweat the small shit !!! Lmao on the worriers ! It must be a tough life you all live in

Not tough at all .But many want to do these things and then get all upset when the mpg change. So many are just saying so that the op is aware of what could come. As some are not willing to accept those parts of it

Just an observation. Tires/wheels and lifts= MPG drop OP. Do it or don’t . But if you do it do it right the first time :)
    Is that better @Joe23 ?
My intention was to let OP know that it’s a simple deal, you will lose some MPG’s if you go bigger and heavier. It’s just a given . So that part should be a yes or no! Lol instead of peeps chiming in with “ your MPG’s could suffer “ 50 times in a thread.
I’m out putting new kayak setup on my taco this morning. Going to be 105* here today !!!! Wow I wonder if this new setup is going to effect my MPG’s ? Lmao have fun bro’s

@Tacomamike mike @Joe23 all I’m asking about is drivability and firtment or any possible damage to the truck. I never mentioned Mpg’s or power loss. There is plenty information about that on YouTube. All I want is a setup that I wouldn’t have to shop anything and be able to take it offroad and look good on the street, that’s it! If I was worried about mpg loss I would’ve keep my 2016 ram ecodiesel averaging 27mps combined. Is this safe to put on my truck is all I want to know and why is everyone saying that the rough country 4” lift sucks?

It’s kind of beyond me. But it’s not just Tacoma’s :), jeep people and even when I take the H1 out with a couple of other H1’s . They sometimes stress over mpg when modding

Wow !! Context !! I did not direct that at you or anyone person , just in general!
As for rough country lifts, people say they suck because they’re pieces of shit.
Once again ...a decent entry level multipurpose suspension is ....bilstien 5100’s on all four corners, ome coils UCA’s SPC would work. Dakar springs in rear ! Done . Go to @HeadStrong Off-Road talk to Marie great prices great service .
I unwatching this thread now !
    GOOD LUCK

I’d try to find out exactly what is the deal and what you are getting for the RC lift. The only 4 inch lift I know from RC is a drop bracket kit and the lift alone cost $1000. The install alone will cost close to $800 depending on your area so I can’t see it being a 4 inch lift installed for $850.
If it’s not a drop bracket lift and it’s netting you 4 inches of lift your front will be trashed in no time flat. Even a true 3 inch lift is pushing things on a 2016 and higher. We are already 1 inch higher than the previous models so a true 3 inch lift in a third gen is the same as 4 inches of actual lift on a second gen if that makes sense.
A lot of people claim a3 inch lift on the new trucks when in reality they are only getting 2 inches of actual lift.
