This whole thread is a great support for why I don't want to have kids for a long while. I still enjoy my lifted FJ with tons of stickers on the back. Don't need to be rolling a kid hauler for a long time. Ha

Absolutely nothing wrong with the safety or reliability with a Grand Caravan.

    To each his own.

    Do you like the kids?

If not, you could opt for a child catcher special a la Chitty Chitty Bang Bang:

    Too few to list.
Keep whatever is paid off. If neither, used older minivans are cheap. Get one for a few grand if you want to save money. We have a 5th Gen 4Runner and it sits 7 comfortably but no room for anything else in the back. If you want to go new, I'd say take a look at a Honda Pilot that sits 8 and have room for luggage. I'm just anti-minivan.

Get the van. Nothing else will provide the utility you need with 4 kids. You not only have to think about your kids but also their friends and soccer mates and....

Got the Van in 04 and it still keeps the wife happy. Now I have my 10 Tyco. It was worth the wait.

Get the Van. I had to go that route, but trust me, for hauling kids around there is nothing better. With four kids, you would be a fool not to get the van. When you get straight financially, get yourself an older tacoma for yourself - but for now, think of your wife and kids. The vans of today are nothing like those of the old days. My Honda runs like a scalded dog - it's actually a lot of fun to drive.
