    A few bolts are different.
Do an rcd lift with 6" coilovers. Get the height without the terrible clerence.

    Do it.

Im curious why you dont just grow a pair, do the necessary trimming and gain suspension travel over the RCD LIFT by getting a 3" lift like an OME with UCA? I dont see why a cab nount chop and trimming with shears and a razir knife is such a big deal.

Drop bracket requires more cutting and welding.

BDS Releases 4″ Lift Kit for 2005+ Tacoma

    Tim Esterdahl | Jul 03, 2012 | Comments 0
A new 4″ lift kit is available through BDS Suspension which is known for using “full 1 piece front and rear crossmembers coupled with precision machined ductile cast iron steering knuckles.” The kit will work on 2005-2012 Toyota Tacoma pickups.
[IMG] BDS has released a new 4" lift kit for 2005+ Toyota Tacoma pickups.

This new Toyota Tacoma IFS suspension lift system follows BDS design standards of using a full 1 piece front & rear crossmembers. BDS says that the “steering knuckles are designed to work within the factory traction control constraints and provide stock-like handling characteristics.” They also point out that they considerably stronger than factory OEM parts.
    What’s In The Box
[IMG]The kit is meant to have all the parts needed for the entire lift job (although this might vary). It comes with iron steering knuckles, crossmembers, belly pan skid plate and a 3″ rear block, u-bolts, shocks and brake line relocation brackets.
    Kit Notes
    1. Minor welding required to install new steering stops.
    2. Stock wheels will not work.
    3. System will work on 2wd PreRunner model, but will not work on standard 2wd model.
    4. 4.5″ wheel backspacing is optimal for tire fitment.
    5. Will not fit 4 Runner models.

I'm not a fan of rear blocks, but it's an option. Plus you could always replace the entire leaf pack.

First of all, it doesn't have anything to do with "growing a pair" If you want to cut on yours, thats your business. Im just not into all that

Say goodbye to your ground clearance. When I went to 33's after my 3 inch lift, I cut maybe half an inch of plastic out of one area behind the fender flare, that's about it, sure when I'm at full lock in reverse it bumps the cab mount a little, but who the fuck cares? It's not obnoxious, it's not enough to do any damage, and I still have ground clearance, which is good cuz I crawl some serious fuckin mall!

my buddy had to do some trimming in front of his tires. Theres a plastic piece that sticks out and down. He took a small torch and heated it and bent it in. Not sure if all that was necessary because I wansn't there when he did it, but he felt the need for some reason

I've got about an inch of clearance lock to lock in front of my tire, my only rubbing is on the cab mount.

They are stockers, but not the ones that came with my truck. They are the base 16's

Ive been looking at running 32"'s on my 12' witha 3" lift as i am un sure about cutting and what not with it being so new (almost 8 months), i need to figure out what lift i want and then if i will need spacers and what wheel size, the downfall is i still need to be able to tow and dont know if adding spacers will affect this? but im in same situation as OP i dont want a 6" lift as it seems a little much and i dont want to lose ground clearance.

Leaving aside any issues about manliness

Drop bracket lifts are difficult to reverse because of the amount of cutting, grinding, and drilling that is done on frame members when they're installed.

By comparison, plastic inner wheelwell trimming and forming with a heatgun, and cab mount chop seem pretty minor to me. This trimming is typically totally invisible to anyone who doesn't know exactly what to look for.

I'm not here to put down any form of drop bracket lift. But to me it's a bit odd to consider a drop bracket lift solely because "you don't want to trim your truck?"

Yeah i think to me its just the thought of cutting haha, i think once i actaully did it i would be cool with it. If its not able to be seen by random people then shouldnt matter, but then again if i cared what people thought about my truck i wouldnt be driving a Tacoma :D

Talk to Patrick (nofords) and ask him about trying to reverse a drop bracket lift.... He spent quite a bit of money to get rid of his drop bracket to back off to a 3 inch lift, and he is running 35's
