I couldn't get behind the Ecoboost motors yet. They had lots of issues in the beginning and it sounds as though it is worked out but still, the 5.0 is proven, tons of power and reliable.

I can tell what offer I got before from other dealer. I think he said between 27-28, I bought it for 30. Ram stealer offered 28,5 but I'm not going that route after reading forums. Mine just SR with C package no different from sr5 except headlights no led and 2" dash screen

If they don't drop a manual transmission in the new Ranger and/or if they make the new Ranger look like some squashed, elongated bug I am going to write some serious hate mail to Ford.

Ford has a chance to do some serious damage to the midsize market and have the top selling mid size truck again. I am patiently waiting for 2018....

    That's promising.

In my mind I'd drawn a line in the sand at one of the smaller displacement EcoBoosts, despite the fact I don't want any of that fuckery, but still want good mileage (for a truck).

The 5.0 calls to me.. 18/22 is good the fuck enough. I get 19 with my 2.7 Tacoma.

A 5.3/6.2 will do well into the 20's.

Zactly. I had a reg cab 2014 Tacoma and then my wife decided to go and get pregant, bitch... Haha I kid I kid.

But seriously, I never saw 20 mpg in my Tacoma, ever. 2.7L 5 spd manual 4x4, bone stock.

I financed my truck. So I wouldn't get that much positive equity from it on a trade. They were originally charging 37 for this particular truck pre-negotiation.

The eco boost 3.5 I drove today truly felt like a V8. Minus that instant pull you get off the line. But the power is there. Similar to the 2.5 gen Tacoma.

    Yeah but durzurl.

Seems like modern diesels with their fucking exhaust fluid (a) are not going to last as long and (b) are way more expensive to maintain.

Not sure it's in my budget, either, since I don't really have any need for diesel of 3/4 ton as of yet. Likely wouldn't, but I guess buying used is a possibility down the road for a diesel 3/4.

Yeah, my friend has the same truck I have but with the 3.5 Ecoboost. The power is there for sure, but the V8 is about the same across the board as far as power and mpg, and has less expensive shit to break.

Dude it's a trade in, no dealer is going to offer what you want. They try to make 3k off any newer used vehicle minimum. Quit your bitching and sell private or don't sell at all

I got 23/24 regularly with mine stock, high of 28.

That's a DCSB Prerunner, 2.7 auto on 245s. It was awesome.

Then I got bigger tires (265/75/16 but still P metric) and a lift, and I am between 18-19 average, and on the same trip I got 28 on in stock form, I can't touch 20.

For whatever reason my business partner, who has what you have, gets the mileage you get and yet in mine I couldnt come close even when driving like a pop pop. Must be the transfer case and manual transmission gear ratios.

Ha, well now. I forgot about that purchase.

Dodge hasn't made a good truck since the 80's.

Jeep hasn't made a good Jeep since the late 90's.

The only good thing is the Dodge was something they have no involvement in and that is the Cummins diesel motor.
