My original comment was about your post regarding your Tacoma, not your old car..

No doubt you think you can sell your $35k truck for $36k because NADA told you you can, and you're layering that $1k profit on top of the $2k you negotiated off of purchase price to make your "2500-3000 profit." That isn't reality.

Without a doubt you can misconstrue what "profit" entails with your old car, but your statement as quoted above is not true, and is my only point. When you list your truck for sale let us know.. you won't see retail value and certainly not above retail value on a used Tacoma, regardless of it's specs, mileage, etc,.

You're assuming a lot about my truck, and I don't plan on selling this truck. I bought my truck for ~$32,600, retail/MSRP was ~$35,000. I am done trying to defend my personal experience, as it is all a moot point. :crapstorm:

    Thanks

    Steve

Your logic makes no sense. You say you can sell your truck for "2500-3000" more than what you paid.

If you paid 32,500 - that means you can sell your truck for 35,000-35,500 (and retail MSRP is $35,000)

See where we're going with this?

    4.

Model year is the key ingredient and the 2017 model year is already out.

NADA Retail is $35,500 currently on my 3 month old 2016 Tacoma. Demand is very high on TRD off-roads in New England, so the price most likely reflects this. I'll put quotes in as a disclaimer - "Using the NADA as a guide" I can possibly make between $2,500-$3,000. I am not planning on selling, so this is a moot point.

My personal experience has shown I can sell for book value. At the very least, I would never sell for more than ~$500 less, as I am never truly in a bind to sell a car. my original post should have carried a disclaimer... jeez lol

You're an idiot. Your truck new is $35-36k no one is going to pay that when they can pay that MSRP for new and likely less for new. But keep thinking your flawed logic. Back on topic.

lol. Walk into any dealer with that 'NADA retail' and be prepared to get laughed off the premises.

Me thinks, you're a young kid, with no life experience.

Maybe all of us 3rd gen owners should get together like the Supra guys and refuse to sell any of our trucks for any less than $5k over sticker.
