Put my truck in 4 Low today for the first time, and I get a beeping and blinking light?

    Anyone know what that's about?

4 High just a solid light no beeping...

    Thanks

You have to be in neutral to go into 4-lo, and the truck may have to roll a little to engage.

Not to state the obvious, but did you consult your manual or look at the little info card on your drivers visor?

    Thank-you
I don't remember having to do that in my other Toyota's in the past...(4 Runner, Land Cruiser, or Hilux Surf) maybe I did and just forgot...

    Thanks for the help

You should look into the mod that allows TRAC in 4lo, otherwise its just open diffs and 4hi is probably better.

Mine does that unless I press in harder when choosing 4 low. I thought something was wrong with mine because 4 high was fine and 4 low wasn't. Press the switch in harder and turn to 4 low.

Experiencing the same...and to make things worse, local toyota techs don't have a clue :(

Reached out to another dealer, who provided troubleshooting documents.
3 top items to focus on are:
    Dash switch
    Wiring harness
    4wd ECU

Does pressing harder (on the switch) really make any difference?

Got the rig back...it was the tcase actuator.

As I was pulling away, someone from the dealership stopped me and asked if I wanted to participate in a satisfaction survey...classic :p
