Anyone else have issues with 4 low not engaging consistently? New (10,000 miles) manual transmission vehicle, and discovered that turning to 4 low gave the exact speed/rpm as 4 high, and 2 wheel. After a couple tries, it did engage, but later did not. Thoughts?

My guess is you aren't following the proper sequence to engage it, I had the same issue initially as well where I could not get 4low engaged. Now if I remember correctly(hard to remember exactly not being in the truck) you need to double clutch to get 4lo engaged.

Be in 4hi at a slow crawl/stop, press clutch in and switch to 4low the system will beep and start flashing.
Release clutch in neutral, than press the clutch back in.
    This should engage 4lo

If you still having issues let me know and I'll double check my sequence when I get home this evening.

Is this the sequence you tried?

The more you use it, the easier it gets. Engage 4H and 4L once in a while to keep things moving smoothly

I've found that that sequence didn't work for me personally. I recall only having 4lo engage once I engaged the clutch after turning the switch to 4lo

Assuming 4wd high is already engaged:

    Stop
Take the transmission out of gear
Hold the clutch all the way down against the clutch pedal switch
Turn the 4wd selector to 4wd low
Wait for it to engage and all the lights to come on.

You can usually hear 4wd low engage.

Also "exercise" your 4wd system how ever many miles, however often the owners manual states. It will work better if you do this.
