I had a 92 pick-up in high school that must of had the 3.0L v6, seemed to do pretty well, I even lived at about 7 thousand feet near San Isabel, don't recally any power problems, I even towed horses through San Isabel to Westcliffe, did pretty well I think.

Just got a 2004 Xtra Cab w/3.4l 6cyl. and five speed manual. My sons both have 2003 xtra Cab w/2.7l 4 cyl. and five speed manual. While I like the 4-cyl., it has gets a little winded going up long, steep grades in the E. TN and W. NC mountains.

I bought the 4 banger for gas mileage, but after joining this forum, I wish I'd bought a V6. I'm averaging about 21 mpg, but so are a lot of the 4.0 owners.:(
