4" suspension lift. Good idea?

Spindles are by far the best investment for a pre runner. Noting else comes close.

 

XX22 if you don't want the full 6in lift get the spindles

 

I saw that i'm screwed up too cause 1700 for fox coilovers and complete kit sounds like a really good deal. plus the original post was for a 4x4 lift kit

OP, go back and talk to the shop and the dealer. This company doesnt even make a kit for your truck. The make kits for 4x4 tacomas

 

It says the 4 inch will fit for 2wd prerunners. Unless I'm mentally handicapped. Which is entirely possible. But I think it does say in fine print at the bottom it'll fit 2wd prerunners, so just no base model 5 lug stuff

 

So is there a huge difference in the 4" and 6" ? Other than size and price.

Yeah if you look at the two, the 6in coilover kit looks pretty good, as it comes with the resi shocks and no spacers up front. But still, I'd consider reevaluating the choice of these lifts. There are better options for you, for a cheaper price. Look around the suspension section, there's tons of ideas. Or talk directly to bds to get your questions answered. Also talk to your dealership, I don't get the whole requirement of a specific shop and kit.

I still cant get over the warranty thing. How can istalling a kit that involves cutting the crossmember be better for the truck than a suspension lift.

 

Don't see why warranty matters. Toyota corporate warranty applies to the stock parts on your truck. The shop that installs the lift gives a warranty on the lift parts. If the lift causes vibrations or shudder, likely neither party will cover it.

Just get the Maxtrac spindles for the front and a 4" leaf pack (like All-Pro's Expedition) for the rear. Better performance, lower cost, and actually less work than a drop-bracket lift.

So would I still be able to keep the same size wheel? I've been looking around at tires. Trying to find something I can use mostly on the road and occasionally take in pastures and trails. Would love to still be able to keep the wheels I have now.

 

So after speaking with the dealership. To keep the truck under warranty I have to take it to an authorized dealer of the lift I plan on getting. After doing research both on here and on other sites. I am going with a readylift 3" on Nittos 33s. After talking to several people. The price and amount of work that would have to be done for the 4"bds lift would pretty much be a 6". Later on down the road I will raise it more. But for now I am gonna just go with the. 3"
